The Halls of Durin’s Folk (OOC)

And of old it was not darksome, but full of light and splendour, as is still remembered in our songs.

Yes, we were all silly poets back then, but it was fun. I often think of Doc. Have you ever heard from him? I too find it hard to use the phone. Enjoy the lore and the Plaza. Maybe we shall see you around the Mountain too, eh?

It was indeed fun. When I went to uni I lost contact with everyone so unfortunately haven't heard from him. I will certainly try to pop in from time to time.

I thought it was adorable that you let my little dove and her mate live even though I was happy to sacrifice them, Fuin. My favorite line from your post was this one --
Fuin Elda wrote: Tue Feb 16, 2021 11:37 pm Her elf would be displeased if she took the woodsmans eyes and so instead she flew steadily waiting to find a safer roost to eat her prize.

Glad you liked that line I was chortling when I wrote it, and I figured I'd pull a David Attenborough and have have her eat a different 'less fortunate member of the flock' Thanks for the fun little RP! I will likely have my falcon fly off and out into the well noon day I suppose since we just had sunrise lol

Hi @Lailyn ! I would love to play your game. May I use Khazad-dûm as a location or does it strictly have to be in Erebor/Dale ? I kind of fancy my birds having a nest on the side of Zirakzigil. :smooch:

@Afird Splitax So how do we want to do the Scrimmage elimination game? I remember which ones were eliminated and I remember most of the points that they were at (The only one I'm not sure on was Velm? I think that's who you were playing with in terms of elimnating other critters?

Good evening all, New Soul here. I am pleased to see the Plaza back in a new incarnation - much success to it and many thanks to its new Admin Team.
It is my hope that Tolkien's legend will adopt a new generation of online fans once the Silmarillion mini-series airs and the Plaza will be THE place for all lovers of Middle-Earth and its histories to congregate again and share their thoughts and writings. It's exciting to be writing again.
Well, let's see where this goes.

@Fuin Elda - Hahaha, I spent the whole day yesterday trying to decide if the dwarves should make a truce and a temporary alliance with the crebian and kill the orc instead. How do you want to proceed? Cause this back and forth can go on for some time, eh?
Also, I believe Velm and Bolrag should be up 1 point. Velm was at 19 at the end of the archive pages, Bolrag 25. Velm started with only 18 and Bolrag 24 after the crash. I checked it several times (instead of posting and getting my point back :googly: ). Pretty sure there were no negative - posts before we resumed. I just thought I would note this if we continue.

Dwarves
Dizzy Orc
Evil Crebian
Velm - 53 Bolrag - 21 Rhafna - 83
Fali - 20
Donlad - 11
Giman 8
Dunabar - 7
Total Points - 100 Total Points - 21 Total Points - 83

Considering was doing the points from memory I didn't do bad lol. We didn't have the archived thread when we restarted. Those two points would have to be taken from somewhere probably another dwarf to keep the totals right. That said...

I gotta admit not really willing to truce the dwarves we're just gonna end up in the same place but with about 10 points more each and then right back to where we are your welcome to go after the orc though on your own.

Yeah, you did a pretty good job with the scores, Fuin. Thanks!. I adjusted Velm and Bolrag's scores. I was kidding about the truce. I meant with proceeding is, do you want to continue the back and forth?

I mean I've got who my character is going after you're absolutely welcome to change who you are going after.

Also chocolate? I mean if that's what you want I'm always more partial to garlic bread for bribery. That might be the ukrainian in me though.

It wasn't the dwarf or the bird that killed the bear. It was @I hate Eärendil, the scoundrel. Could you toss a coin?

@Fuin Elda @Romeran
So, having started this elimination game way back in March of last year, I never considered what would happen if there were only dwarves remaining. If it were all Orcs or Extras left, I would have no qualms about letting them choose to destroy each other. But I can not consciously allow dwarves to kill dwarves. Especially not now, seeing as how they are all huddled together in their barricade making toast over the fire and singing songs.
I do not want to change the rules but, I have decided that the game will be over if the remaining orc and bird become eliminated before the dwarves. Thanks for playing!

Yeah I was actually thinking about what happens if there are only dwarves left. Maybe I'll have to start playing that orc killing off dwarves :whip:

@Drifa I sort of was wondering that when you started going after Rhafna with Fali instead of playing Bolrag before, I figured something would have to give there (though I did have fun sending Fali off the deep end for a few swings) I am glad to see we have more people playing Bolrag now lol See how long the orc and crow last now.

Well now that we have like four people fairly involved we might actually break the stalemate that appeared to be the case before. Although if the raven doesn't win I'll be amazed.

Indeed lol @Romeran at the very best it would be crow not a raven... I think the dwarves might even take offense to my nasty little Rhafna being called a raven

@Fuin Elda And @Romeran I thought some warrior dwarf or hero would show up to help me kill the orc and bird. But "warriors are busy fighting one another in distant lands, and in this neighborhood heroes are scarce, or simply not to be found."

I shall be back swinging my axes shortly.

@Frost and @Romeran - Hey guys! When did another character (Balrog) suddenly become part of the game? The last time I looked, there were only three characters left; Velm, Bolrag and Rhafna.

As there are only three characters left in the game, and four players still playing, Rome and I decided it give Bolrag a split personality (Balrog) that I could use so as to not interfere with anything Rome was doing with Bolrag. Hope that's alright? We can drop it if it messes with the game.

Yeah was dealing (and still sorta am?) with covid I"ve been lucky I haven't gotten it but aside from my sister in law my entire family has now had it - my dad is finally feeling better but still testing positive a doctor told him he may test positive for up to a year because of how immuno compromised he is so that may throw some wrenches in our plans but we will see. So yeah a bit exhausted from being the grocery delivery girl for two extra households since where I live does not have curb side pick up nor does it have delivery. Otherwise things are going well at least.

So are we going to war between the crow and the orc or are we calling this battle? @Drifa @Romeran

It's gonna be a long haul either way if we keep going I think.

I'll leave that up to the GM @Drifa to decide. I'm happy either way, possibly @Frost may continue to play Bolrag's second personality  but I agree that it'll be a long haul.

I say we kill the orc,@Fuin Elda! :stab: I am willing to don feathers for the occasion and participate more. And, if, as @Romeran says, @Frost participates it will be somewhat even.

Also, we can take more points away so that it does not drag on for another year, eh?

But if you are all played out, I understand too.
