Hard truths
Can we expect daily LOTR memes from you at this point Ducky?
Artanis / Éomund / Brandor / Zarâm
Blame @Mojo , his meme thread in Fangorn is what turned me onto the idea. I'd seen LotR related memes for years but never thought it could be so fun and easy! (now funny, there's a challenge :ugeek: )
I love all Memes and fully support the creation of more memes in all formats.
Fangorn Forever
VERY WELL. Time to go meta.
Gandalf, try another spell of opening. Just one more spell of opening. Maybe this one. Definitely going to be the next one, that'll absolutely work.
In the deeps of Time, amidst the Innumerable Stars
Also apologies to everyone because I have NO IDEA why they keep posting so large. Is there any way to change that in-post or do I have to edit the files?
In the deeps of Time, amidst the Innumerable Stars
To my knowledge it just is based on the file size of the photo, which you can check the dimensions of by inspecting (or sometimes it's displayed on the webpage). At least it seems that way to me because my pictures come out different sizes and I do nothing to adjust them. And another Bombadil meme:
Since I just started reading the Long-Expected Party again, this seems appropriate.
Fangorn Forever
Amazing, Mojo. I, like the guests at Bilbo's party, have still not yet determined if that comes out to a compliment or not...
In the deeps of Time, amidst the Innumerable Stars
Even Lothlorien and Erebor chipped in for defense, but Rivendell?
@KingODuckingham hey, he held a council! At which I guess he decided "you all figure it out." It's said his house was perfect if you liked food, so I bet he had a good spread. :P

Using Ducky's theme as some inspiration here. This seems like a sensible meme format.
Fangorn Forever
Gandalf does seem the type to be physically brusque, doesn't he?
In my recent reading and in anticipation for the book discussion...

If only Boromir could have met Saruman to learn from his mistakes...but maybe he wouldn't have.
Not exactly a meme but I saw this on BoredPanda:
Describe your favorite movie as boring as possible:
Guy finds a ring and his nephew returns it to the factory

A movie-only meme, I suppose. Dim reminded me that I was missing days, but I ain't posting extra to make up for it.
@KingODuckingham Silly Gimli, should have used a hammer!
Ha, you're good Ducky. I know you have littles at home, but the consistent memes are appreciated.
Artanis / Éomund / Brandor / Zarâm
Alright, alright, here's another one then. Bit salty about this one too, even almost two decades later.
Ahahaha this is brilliant
That part was super annoying!

I agree, it was extremely frustrating. Especially since they couldn't follow through on it anyway, per the plot of the book, you know, the THING THEY WERE ADAPTING?! Anyway....
TBH I have no idea if I used this meme properly, I am no meme historian.
At times I do sympathize with Denethor...an only father, he had a kingdom to rule, a wizard and a ranger after his throne, a palantir to look into. He was just swamped with work:

Hahaha so true, poor Faramir. And speaking of fools, there never was any hope but a fool's hope.
The following is not mine, and you can see the original in the wonderful subreddit LotrBookMemes, but I thought it was so good I had to cross-post it here:
Cool cool swole doge is something I've now seen and can't unsee, thank you Ducky

Yeah I would never have made such a terrifying abomination of an image, but here we are. This one I did make, at least the text portion.
I like this image a lot better. What a cute lil hat for a man of quality.

It does seem a little strange, doesn't it? I would have thought the word would be forebearers, but they both seem to be words. English can be strange (which is good, because it makes for great puns like Gandalf's in that totally canon scene)
KingODuckingham, perfect for Denethor.

Wait, how is that possible to have already had an account on nuplaza?
Never underestimate the little folk! They will get the job done. And surprise you in a million ways along the way.
Artanis / Éomund / Brandor / Zarâm
So true. Although they do get gently confused sometimes, like this:
I don't know where else on the Plaza to post this, but I just remembered an excellent video from the ancient days.
In the deeps of Time, amidst the Innumerable Stars
Ooh, I think that should be cross-posted to the LOTR parodies thread that's somewhere in this forum.
Well, here's a thing. The Hobbit almost feels more ridiculous than the plan in LotR in a way. At least in LotR the idea is clearly articulated to the participants and the reader. In the Hobbit they literally have no plan as far as I can tell.
bahaha well done with this latest one

It's nice to be able to post something simple after literally spending all day trawling archives.
*bump* I think many of us can relate to Bilbo here:

Yes. I am exactly this Meme.
Sereg a Dîn
I love that last one, lol!
Please state the nature of the medical emergency!
Been a hot minute since I posted one of these, obviously worth the wait lmao
KingODuckingham, same for me, but worth the wait 13 year old me watching FOTR in theaters for the first time (and only having started reading the book):

"Is it a complicated walk, then?"
Movie wise, I mean I sorta agree with Denethor, book wise.... Completely acceptable son at home.

Oh noes ... I damn CACKLED out loud at that last!
The Wood-elves lingered in the twilight of our Sun and Moon, but loved best the stars.
So glad this thread exists.
