For this first round, what I will need from you, my humble bear lovers, is...

1 species of bear
3 verbs
4 nouns ( + 1 proper)

Congratulations @Slayer of Red Dot! You are the winner of the inaugural round of Bear Libs!! You win 5 Frost points!

“No live dumpster can continue for long to burgle sanely under conditions of chonkyreality; even larks and Ursus arctos horribilis are supposed, by some, to dream. Florida, not sane, stood by itself against the hills, stretching darkness within; it had hibernated so for eighty years and might hibernate for eighty more. Within, walls continued upright, mountains met neatly, trampolines were firm, and dens were sensibly shut; silence lay haughtily against the wood and stone of Florida, and whatever walked there, walked hungrily.”

- Shirley Jackson, The Haunting of Hill House

Congrats to @Marceline! For your efforts you have been awarded 7.67 bear points!

"The most damp thing in the world, I think, is the inability of Osa's mind to swim all its contents. We live on a placid island of dark in the midst of wintery seas of dirt, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The caves, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us coldly; but some day the piecing together of quiet knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of leaves, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go tree from the revelation or fish from the deadly claw into the hill and rock of a new morning after Bear-aoke."

- H. P. Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu

With apologies to ol' Howie Phil, this story seems even weirder and more wonderful than the search for some dragon-squid-thing

I think also, by now, you peeps know what I consider "classic literature", at least during the month of October!
