Re-post of the OP:
What are you listening to?

This was one of my favourite threads from the original Plaza. I like discovering new songs or finding members who enjoy the same artists as me. Just let us know what music you've been listening to, or if you're not listening to anything, what are your favourite songs and artists?

Wind Rose's "Wintersaga" album is basically dwarf-metal, featuring tunes named "Of Iron and Gold," "King Under the Mountain," and of course, "Diggy Diggy Hole."

Also, Alestorm's song "1741 (The Battle of Cartagena)" starts with this really neat 8-bit chipset riff before going into their typical pirate-y instrumentation.

These days I am listening to Bob Dylan's Rough and Rowdy Ways and Old (1971) Fleetwood Mac. Peter Green left us this year. He was fantastic!

@Fuin Elda it's always nice to have a song influence you like that. I've gone back and forth about getting my own lyric tattoos for years.

As far as my own music has been going, I've been on a big of a kick for The Coup's album "Sorry to Bother You" (on which the movie was based).

I just watched a livestreamed concert by Andrew Bird in which he performed the entirety of The Mysterious Production of Eggs.

I love the entire album but here are a few of my favorite tracks:

I've been pretty obsessed with Bring Me The Horizon's new album Post Human: Survival Horror, which is quite noteworthy for the way it (deliberately) captures the angst and frustration of the COVID pandemic, and features some unique collaborations with other popular artists.

This is my favourite off the album: Parasite Eve

Naruto OST - Sadness and Sorrow (remix)

Because I am a hopeless weeb, I have listened to far too many Naruto remixes, especially of this track, but this is one of my favorite. It starts off basically identical to the original, then starts to get interesting when the drums kick in at the one minute mark.

This Awakenings album is wonderful to hear, always. It has a majestic and emotioinally evocative epic score, one of many which I listen to when I write. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TM8iSmQ ... fI&index=4

Nice @Aodh Hammerhelm! I am a great fan of Nick Cave, and PJ Harvey. Always put those two together for some reason.

I am listening to Jesus Christ Superstar. It has been years since I last put this on the turntable, so to speak. Best way to listen to it is, LOUD!

Since today the HRT decided to grace us with the list of candidates for Dora 2021 (Croatia's national selection event for the Eurovision competition) and Twitter is in an uproar  I decided to share Croatia's absolute best performance at Eurovision: Doris Dragović - Marija Magdalena from the 1999 Eurovision in Jerusalem. Come to think of it the '90s really did have some great Eurovision songs...

Flowers for Bodysnatchers, my favorite classical dark ambient project, has come out with a new album and the mood is fantastic! Until the End of Carnival is the last track of a True Detective type narrative flow. Highly recommend!

No one I know in the Native community here uses the term “Aborginal” - First Nations is preferred north of the Canadian border.

Every year, Cryo Chambers releases a massive collaborative effort based around a Lovecraftian entity/deity. For a while, I thou=ht the concept would suffer the same fate as so many good and nice things in 2020, but low and behold, with barely time to spare: Yig, Part 1 and Yig, Part 2

The soundtrack for the BBC documentary The Perfect Planet by Ilan Eshkeri is out, and it's so lovely and uplifting. The track Bears reminded me of @The King in Yellow cause bears

@Nia still haven't watched it, because I need to figure out where it will be available to watch in the EU, I'm guessing that because of Brexit I won't be able to see it on the BBC iPlayer  But the music is so gorgeous, I was actually surprised they picked Ilan Eshkeri to compose because the last couple of documentaries David Attenborough did for the BBC Hans Zimmer did the score.

Argh no! :( I really hope that that isn't the case, and that you are able to watch it! Yeah, it felt noticeably different to the Hans Zimmer backing music (although I'm always a fan of his music too); it worked so well. I've not come across Ilan Eshkeri before, but am now a fan!

The first score of his I heard was the soundtrack to the movie Stardust (the adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel) back in 2007. It was really fun and quirky, and I've been a fan ever since. :-)

I hardly listen to vocals anymore unless they're epically operatic but...there's always that random occasion.

Nat King Cole's L-O-V-E-. I have always enjoyed this opening scene from the Parent Trap remake of Linsay Lohan (back when she was cute and respectable; used to be one of my favorite redheads). I love this movie. "I have class and you don't!" (English accent).

I’ve recently begun listening to a new band called Hospital Bracelet. It’s probably because I was a lonely weird kid from a small town in the midwest, but the midwest emo/math rock genres are very close to my heart and this band has been hitting the emotions button pretty strongly recently!

I have circled back around into a soundtrack / musical period again, and keep going back and forth between Hadestown and Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. Both of them are A+.

The King beneath the mountains,
The King of carven stone,
The lord of silver fountains
Shall come into his own!

His crown shall be upholden,
His harp shall be restrung,
His halls shall echo golden
To songs of yore re-sung.
The woods shall wave on mountains
And grass beneath the sun;
His wealth shall flow in fountains
And the rivers golden run.

The streams shall run in gladness,
The lakes shall shine and burn,
All sorrow fail and sadness
At the Mountain-king’s return!
