War Of The Dwarves And The Orcs - Early Morning Scrimmage

And of old it was not darksome, but full of light and splendour, as is still remembered in our songs.

Kali's nose wrinkled as she saw the orc slurp up the worm from the dirt. In any other circumstance she would be disgusted to be working with one of the dwarves most hated enemies, but the evil bird had to be stopped from cruelly killing more of her kin, and for now she would bury her disgust to get the job done.

Madness and insanity that's what was happening indeed. And it had taken a hold of the dwarf who could no longer see friend from foe (since really there could only be one standing at the end of the day) So she swung at the first body that she saw. What was it? Did she know? Did she care? The first answer she was unsure of but the other two were definite no's. She did not know. She did not care. There could only be one survivor at the end of this.

Her ax caught something with a wet sickening thunk and it was still standing so Fali swung again just as strongly as she had the first time, clipping whatever creature it was that had gotten in the battle crazed dwarfs way.

Ignoring the orc, Kali focused all her rage on the crebain until she felt a blow against her armour. Chancing a glance towards her attacker, she was shocked to see another dwarf. Aiming another blow towards the bird in case it escaped in the confusion she settled for trying to shout over the battle, only for her voice to be drowned by the squawking of the bird as she clipped its body.

Having been released from the bird's evil pecking for a time, Sog felt a little stronger. He needed armour if he would move on from the dead orc that he had been hiding behind. The stiff chap was in nothing but his skin after Sog had used all of the orc's clothes and possessions as weapons launched at the bird. He needed to protect himself if he was going to see the light of another day. But, before sneaking off to find weaponry, he flung another rock at the bird for good measure.

The crow was still utterly angry at the orc and pecked at it violently reminding it who was going to be the one that was the first to die. It was not going to be her Rhafna thought even as he'd gained some strength back while the orc and the dwarf continued to attack her.

Despite the noise and confusion of the battle overpowering her voice, Kali needed to vent her frustration somehow. Even if screaming 'Why. Won't. You. Die!' at the top of her lungs did little to turn the tide in her favour, the crow still showing little sign of slowing its vicious attacks, it at least gave some power to the next swing of her axe at the foul creature.

She wouldn't die because the orc she had decided to kill was not dead. Wasn't that obvious to this obnoxious shouting dwarf? The orc was bad enough to deal with, the meat on it wasn't as tasty but at least there was less hair to deal with as she pecked at the orc once more.

Unsurprisingly her shouts had little effect, but Kali at least felt a little better at this bizarre three-sided battle she found herself locked in. Her previous blows hadn't done as much damage to the bird as she'd like from what she could see, but she couldn't let that stop her. Aiming the axe at the crebains body she swung again.

She hopped out of the way of the axe and pecked viciously at the orc that had slighted her attempting to take his thumb clean off., indeed dwarves were the worst. where was that crazy dwarf that had attacked the one attacking her? She liked that dwarf.

She was still working on the nasty orc. She was certain she'd gotten a thumb maybe it was a finger. It didn't matter she'd get another digit soon enough as she pecked at him yet again snapping her beak shut on part of the fouls creatures hand and throwing the bit she tore off away.

The dratted bird had pecked most of his hand and other body parts as well. What was the use, thought Sog, with only two fingers left? He was a mishap orc, and no other orc would give him the time of day. He would be kicked and spit upon forever. Yet, his hate for the feathered menace kept him alive and still trying to survive. With great determination, he picked up a small stone and threw it at the black-winged demon. It was worth a try.

The Crebain had no sympathy for the orc in question as he struggled to keep himself alive and throw more things at her. She'd need to take off more fingers she decided as clearly her last attempt at taking a finger hadn't quite worked or he wouldn't be able to pick anything up. Never mind throw it properly. As she hopped along the ground out of the way of the stone before returning to menace him further

Again the crow pecked viciously at the orc before her, attempting to take another bit of flesh to render his hand useless so that he couldn't pick things up to throw at her. She puffed her feathers up and spread her wings making herself look bigger more intimidating, granted she was for a crow fairly intimidating. After all there had been two creatures constantly trying to kill her for a while, so if nothing else frightened the orc before her that by itself should

The orc was looking to be in rough shape now, not that Rhafna minded as she pecked at him some more growing bolder and hopping her way right up onto his thighs and looking this creature dead in the eye for a moment. Rustling her wing feathers getting comfortable and BAM. She slammed her beak down into his thigh muscle with a ferocity that would make a dwarf jealous. Maybe that's why the dwarves kept trying to kill her they were jealous!

The crow pulled her head back and took out a lovely chunk of inner thigh meat from the orcs leg. This bit went down her gullet, mostly because quite frankly the orcs nasty hands had never touched it. Hard to when it was beak deep into the beasts thigh. She looked about once more looking to see if it had any fight in it as well as to see if she could see where that nasty dwarf that had been attacking her was about. Seeing no new attack incoming she slammed her head down once more trying to get another beak full of tasty thigh meat.

Another tasty morsel! Rhafna crowed happily as she gobbled that piece down and blinked the blood out of her eyes. She looked about indeed the orc was about to succumb to his wounds, she had won she as she had known she would in this particular battle. Once this was finished she had other business to attend to as she looked about before going for another mouthful of leg muscle and viscera. Maybe she'd eat his eyeball or something when she finally killed the beast.

She hopped along the orc was breathing its last breaths now, too weak to even sit up as she bounced across it's chest looking around in utter glee at what she had managed to do thus far. She perched herself on the creatures chin and let out a few crows of victory her wings spread slightly, calling to her brethren to come and feast as she struck the orc one final time it's limbs twitching and it's last breath rattling out of its lungs as she struck the creatures eye socket with her beak popping the gelatinous orb into her gullet and damaging the fallen creatures brains with her beak.

Vengeance was on Rhafnas mind. She'd finished with the orc that had made the mistake of attacking her. Now it was the dwarfs turn. She turned her head as she sat perched on the dead orcs face and blinked slowly her little beady eye fixing it upon the dwarf that had done her the most harm. They had thought she couldn't fly but she took wing with a warning croak and flew up and then into the sun so she could come at the nasty hairy thing without being easily seen swooping past and pecking hard before flapping back into the air.

The first attack was a success, but this dwarf was tough, tougher than most dwarves but that would not stop Rahfna. She could be persistent. She was deadly. That had been proven over and over again by orcs and dwarves alike that had fallen to her sharp beak and wicked mind. She wheeled in the air pinwheeling on the spot tumbling over her own wing coming back down on her once more. Dealing a tiny bit more damage to her.

Another successful attack as she drew a thin line of blood from the offending dwarf, however Rhafna knew that this dwarf was as tenacious as she was, after all it was why the Crebain knew she existed - aside from the fact she'd tried to throw axes at her and arrows and she'd done the black bird some damage, but she was still in flight as she wheeled about trying to draw more blood from the dwarf.

She was getting stronger, yes she was almost feeling as good as she had been before the dwarf and the orc had decided to team up against her. Why now they didn't fight back she wasn't entirely sure, clearly preoccupied with too many other things leaving the Crebain to do as she would upon the battle field. And as she would was indeed cruelty as she dove out of the sky with malice towards the dwarf that had pursued her for so long.

Another quick swoop and another thin line of blood, this would be undoubtedly death by a thousand paper cuts... and a very very slow process. It was one that Rhafna was willing to undertake though as a warning to all the other dwarves and orcs that thought for even the briefest moment that it was a smart thing to mess with a crow.

Every attack she was getting closer, going faster than a falcon swooping. Blood and death with surely come Kali's way. And of course blood and death was personified as a crebian with a vengeance complex and a good amount of time on her wings. Indeed Rhafna felt good and strong again and life was going her way.

Another swoop and another thin line of blood from the dwarf as Rhafnas beak clipped her and cut her skin. The crebian for her part flapped her wings taking back to the air to make sure she'd be able to get another attack in soon enough. She blinked looking about her trying to see how many more enemies she might face, there were a number still, but she needed to concentrate on this particular dwarf who was for the time being her biggest threat.

Velm was battered and bruised. She watched as the accursed bird dove pecked and tore at her kin, killing all. She was too far away to help, but she was getting closer to the foul creature. All she had to do was kill a few of these vile orcs, and she would be close enough to do some damage. Raising her axe, she crashed it down on the sorely look orc in her path.

Ahhh there was life on the battle field, one of the other dwarves that had done her ill was moving again. She remembered the harsh treatment at the hands of the dwarves. Indeed she would takes Rhafnas wrath later but for now? The dwarf that she was currently tormenting needed her full attention as she dove down again pecking and scratching at the nasty furry beast that had attacked her mercilessly before.

Another graceful whirl in the air and she was on the dwarf again another wound inflicted which her beak reaching in past the armor that did it's best to guard soft flesh. It wasn't doing a good enough job, not that Rhafna minded in the least. It made her task far easier though this dwarf was still far better defended than some that she'd already killed and there were others that would be easier but it was the principle of the matter.

The orc squirmed like a bug under the blow of the axe. Velm raised it once more and called out.
'Die you miserable vermin! Die you, bug!'
'Buugug! Buugug! ' cried the dying orc vexed. Blood draining from his body, he corrected yet another being on the proper pronunciation of his insect-like name. It was the story of his miserable life.
'Bug Ug! Bug Gug! Who cares! I detest ever one of you!' cursed Velm, bring down her axe once more.

A flick of her wings and a stretching of her neck and she had brought the once mighty dwarf back to her own level. -IF- one could say a creature that could not fly was ever one the same level as one that could. Yes this would be a death by a thousand cuts it seemed or a thousand pecks, though sooner rather than later perhaps Rhafna would feel comfortable enough to treat this dwarf the same way she had the orc...Landing on it and pulling parts of it off.

Another cruel strike to the dwarf that had done her so much ill. Indeed there were plenty of foes with less hair on the battlefield, and those that would be easier to strike but Rhafna was not one to back down from a challenge and a challenge had been issued. And the crow would answer with swift wings and sharp beak. With this struck she scored a deeper cut, before flying away out of range only to give herself enough momentum to strike harshly again on her next swoop.

One more blow, and the orc would be departing this world. Velm could leave him for the scavengers who circled the battlefield, but she knew that was not the case. The hatred for this particular race of beings was rooted deep in dwarven hearts. No, she would raise her axe once more and strike her enemy with no regret.

A flash of her tail ruddering her about in the air, an angling of her long sleek black feathers and she had spun about in the air almost as swiftly as a raptor in chase. She was no raptor but she was in chase as an omen of death. Her wings folded and down she swooped her opponents face being struck this time by sharp claws as her feet raked over cheeks and helm.

With no danger to herself for the moment she stayed in the face of this dwarf, her wings beating violently against the helm as they had against the earlier dwarf that she'd literally run off a cliff, this one though was a lot tougher than that one had been and she cawed in its face and scratched with her feet a moment longer before taking off once more not wishing to overly risk herself any further than she had.

Still there was no sign of danger to her as she glanced about the battlefield after so much violence towards her directly, of course was it entirely without merit? No she as the biggest crow on the field, and the only one that had killed several participants on field, her fellow crows just partook in her victory gore. She folded her wings once more and hit the offending dwarfs helm HARD with her beak, enough to dent it even.

She swooped around for yet another attack on the dwarf her beak ringing clear and loud off of the helm for those around to hear it, it had to be loud and possibly disorienting for the dwarf that had the helm on their head before she took beat her wings hard (thumping the helmet with her feather tips on the one wing once due to proximity) and was aloft out of reach of the dwarf once more.

Deed done. The orc was dead. She kicked a battered helm from her path as she cleaned the gore from her axe on a dirty rag she had found on the ground. Discarding it, she ran towards a group of combatants, getting ever closer to the evil bird in the melee. She hoped to have her axe kiss its neck before long.

She stayed aloft for a short while trying to keep an eye on the other dwarf that was moving about but knew that she had to swoop down into the fray if she was wanting to kill the dwarf that she had so patiently (and cruelly) been working on pecking one tiny bit of her life away at a time. With that she was down in the cacophony of shouts screams clashing metal and shields with none of the armor or weapons the larger creatures boasted no it was a bird with her wits beak and claws as she pecked at Kali once more.

There was much tussling in the group that Velm found herself fighting in. She elbowed her way towards a rather large breasted orc (female, she assumed) and swung her axe at the creature's bowed legs, knocking her down to her knees. With a swift kick from Velm's short, sturdy leg, the orc fell flat to the ground.
'Stike one!' called out the dwarf.

The dwarf she'd been keeping an eye on started swinging at another orc. Perfect as far as Rhafna was concerned it gave her time to keep dealing with the dwarf that she was fixated on currently. She swooped down and got her beak in the dwarfs face peaking once and taking off yet again.

Looking down at the felled orc, Velm couldn't help thinking as she raised her axe to deliver a blow. There wasn't much difference between male and female orcs; they were all dirty and grotesque. As her axe came slicing down, the orc kicked out her leg and caught Velm in the knee, sending her staggering and her aim askew; the blade only nicking the orc's shoulder. Yet, a nick on the shoulder drew blood and injured the orc further, which was a good thing.

Rhafna looked down at where she had left her dwarf victim... The bird couldn't tell if it was male or female of course, not that it mattered, honestly male female, none of it made any difference to the bird. And it didn't make any difference to the ones that fell, at least not so much after they fell. Before hand perhaps it did, it did matter in bird society, she assumed that the other bipeds felt similar as well. With that she swooped back down trying to driver her beak into a gap between the dwarfs helm and the back of their torso armor.

Rhafna swooped low once more again aiming for that delicate spot on the back of her chosen foes neck. It was a sensivitve spot, and dangerous to take a blow there, which is why the bird had no doubt that it was protected with armor on the wingless beasts. It was the exact spot she'd struck on a mighty eagle and brought it down so taking a dwarf down hitting there shouldn't be that much harder... Except the armor. Not that it wasn't going to stop her from trying.

This orc was not going down without a fight. Snarling, Velm watched as the orc quickly got to her feet. She was so startled to see the creature move so swiftly that she backed up to hastily, causing her to trip over a prone dwarf that was right behind her. Sprawling on the ground, she rolled onto her side, just in time to see the orc bare its teeth and charge. Raising herself to her knees, she pulled out her knife and caught her assailant in her strong arms as it dove at her, her knife finding a crack between the orc's ribs. Pulling free from the tangle of the orc's arms and legs, Velm gained her feet and, breathing heavy, waited for the orc to retaliate, but hoping her stab to the ribs had diminished some fight out of the orc.

The orc was bleeding, Velm could see, from the knife wound but still had some fight in her as she ran, hands outstretched, ragged clawed hands reaching for her. Raising her knife arm, she lashed at the orc's arm but got the fist of the other crashing into the side of her neck. Stunned for a moment, Velm stabbed at the orc, who had grabbed at the wound on her arm, only to have both combatants fall heavily to the ground.
Velm stabbed her way out in a tangle and moved back from the orc, who bled from many cuts. Luckily she was only bruised and breathless.

She had been busy flying about thinking of some fantastic carrion and had gotten carried away in the repugnant daydream and had forgotten to attack the dwarf that she had been exacting revenge upon for a bit. Not that it mattered she had been reminded about the dwarf in particular perhaps because of the other dwarf scuffling about with an orc. Whatever had done it Rhafna swooped in for another peck and the dwarfs face.

She pecked and scratched at the dwarf some more, indeed she had every plan to kill this dwarf even if it was one single peck at a time that it took for her to do it. She blinked her beady little eye noting where the dwarf was and where their allies were before she took aloft once more worried that these dwarves would begin their relentless attack again. From on high she decided that the next attack to this dwarf was going to be to their back... the back of their neck or their knees though? Such choices needed to be made.

Breathing heavily, Velm held her knife out in front of her as the bleeding orc snarled and spat like a mad beast. This orc was a tough one. She wanted to live, it appeared. But the stout dwarf was having none of it. Rushing suddenly towards the orc, Velm feinted a stab and quickly dove for the orc's legs instead, knocking her over. She then began to slash with her knife at the orc with unleashed fury.

Rhafna swooped about wheeling in the air watching what she could before dove down once more towards the back of her intended target. She could see that the other dwarf seemed to have just about killed another orc which was good orcs her horribly smelly creatures and they needed to die. Dwarves were just tough and overly chewy but they didn't smell as bad in terms of eating them once they fell. With that she made it down to the dwarfs knees and drove her beak into the weak point on the bipeds leg.
