I was Ehtyar back in the day, so somewhere back in my brain there's a whole bunch of old polearm trivia to unearth ;P Taking Az in a slightly different direction this time around (nothing like a Timewarp to give a good reason to create an Alternate Universe version of the character) but I figured it was a good way to tie back to the legacy version.

Just an fyi, @Azdiur, Turin is likely going to ask if your character is or is related to his old trainer who got him started in the military years prior.

Are the half dozen archers who were left with the Lieutenant able to see the attack that has surprised the main group, since that didn’t spring until the main group were right in the centre of the village ?

And are we RPing against NPC Orcs of our own creation in the main group, or waiting on the arrival of ahem .. actual minion RPers to fight off ? Because yes, rumours travel

- The archers left with the Lieutenant CAN see the attack! I imagine a straight path from their viewpoint to the center of the village.
- The attack would not be within shortbow range, but it would be within Gondorian longbow range. I'm thinking the Rangers in the village and the Rangers with the Lieutenant are somewhere in between 200-300 yards apart.

You are RPing against NPC Orcs of your own creation unless there are - ahem - "arrivals" (aka minion RPers) who attack you first! Please don't wait for them to appear and attack you, because I think there will only be a few actual minion RPers... (I just thought it might be fun to have some, if people were interested in playing them.)

Ahh! What an update to come back to. Yay, action! Just got back from doing some farm work out of town, but will be able to get a post up in the next day or so. Also, thanks for also doing little heads-up post/mentions in OOC for us. It's been really helpful for me.

I'll try to get a post put together for the rp later today. have errands to run in town and my kids are driving me crazy, so yeah. I'm glad I was able to get one post on my list of several done today so far.

Sorry about all this, got eaten by real life (gotta love it), will get a post up today or tomorrow.

@Pellaadarion : A lot of us are using characters from Fourth Age Gondor Plaza (which was actually ahead of the timeframe we're playing in now, which is FA 2-5 ish). Some of us are using characters who also appeared on Third Age Gondor Plaza and who we don't want to age too much. Yet others used the same characters in both timelines.

That's why people are all doing something a little different with their characters; some say only a few years have passed since the ERC, others go with a decade or more - we've decided that everyone should get the freedom to make the choice they want to for their own characters, and when RP'ing together to just take it in stride: mostly be a bit vague about the time that's passed and have it work out somehow.

Thanks Arnyn. I'll stick with what I've got in mind and avoid any contradictions with others.

I'll just pop a few posts in here and there it that's alright.

Well I should be worried, really I should. But in all honesty, I’ve been struggling to put up something for this RPG for a while now and haven’t been happy with anything I have come up with so far.

Was going to suggest you change up targets again for someone who can give you a swifter response. But if you want to do the evil thing instead, why not ? Go on ahead and strike a blow. It will give the healers something to do later and all adds to the realism, no ?

@Arnyn Apologies for being slow (I blame the thesis) - I will get a post up for Jaena (who will be following the Lieutenant) in the next couple of days!

@Nen Hope you don't mind that I went ahead and stepped in to the other Orc that was coming for Hirluin. I tried to leave plenty of room if you want to RP the first half of the fight, and if you're around later I'm happy to find some way to coordinate your saving Az from Orcs in a later encounter :)
