@Fuin Elda The first part is definitely true. Tolkien replies in Letter 184 and that is a direct quote from the letter. How about that? A meme that is 100% accurate.

I found this out in the wilds this weekend at an antique mall, doesn't seem to be connected to any of films as far as I can see. I'm sure we can make a meme from this, right? right?

Wow... This is so much. And I think you're right. Zooming in here seems to give me a date of 19*9 — I think that's an 8, which puts it a decade distant from either film series, but it might be a 9, which would make this perhaps a very misguided PJ merchandizing attempt? But then — everything else, from the character design to the font, is wrong wrong wrong for the PJ movies.
