The Butterfly
He seemed to be reading her mind - as he so often seemed to do - given that he gradually slowed their dancing. Her words silenced him for a while, and Butterfly debated whether or not to give him another clue... before he might be tempted to walk away. Because the last thing she wanted was for him to walk away.
Yet he was tempted to no such thing, as it turned out. Rather, he asked her directly whether she was the woman he was looking for. "Am I?" she repeated, thoughtfully, as she freed herself from his embrace smoothly, nevertheless keeping one gloved hand on his shoulder. She circled around him, her hand sliding lightly from his shoulder, across the top of his chest, to his other shoulder, across the top of his back, to return to the shoulder it had started at - as she stepped around him, somehow still in tune with the music. "It would have to be a very good disguise if I were, would it not?" she whispered toward his ear, still using that Belfalasian accent, as her hand rounded his shoulder and she could lean in.
Completing her circle as she stepped back in front of him, she ended up much closer to him than he had permitted thus far. Their bodies didn't quite touch, but it was close enough for others to maybe take notice of the difference in proximity between them and any of the other dancers. Her hand slipped from his shoulder up his neck, one finger sliding past the stubble on his jaw to the edge of his mask. "May I?" she asked quietly, those two ever so small words now spoken as she would usually speak to him. If he still wasn't sure... well then perhaps he would just have to trust his intuition.

The Fairy
Golden Sunbeam
Conversation between the Fairy and the Sunbeam had continued along with the dance, and both had been equally light-hearted.
Fairy thought it rather uncanny that a dance with this particular man had been her first one - and who knew, possibly even the only one she may have. Mentally, she laughed at herself.
Meanwhile, Sunbeam wondered whether it was possible that this blonde Fairy was who he thought she might be. She certainly checked a lot of the boxes, and by the time he was leading her back off the dancefloor, his suspicions had grown quite substantially.
"You were a joy to dance with, my lady Fairy," he said graciously once they had returned more or less to the place where he had initially approached her, Blossom and Dragon.
That earned him an ever so slight curtsy, but an open smile. "Likewise, sir. Boht your technique and your dynamics were wonderful."
Sunbeam grinned broadly, and continued the conversation, focusing a bit more on how much and how long they had each been dancing, and whether or not especially the lady Fairy might benefit from some more dancing in her apparently rather busy life.

Macardil
Even though he was immensely enjoying having his lady in his arms like this, even - or perhaps especially - in public, after a while it occurred to him that she at least would need to eat something. And she could probably use a drink, as well, to rehydrate if nothing else. "Let us sit down for dinner, my Lady," he suggested, almost ruefully. "As we agreed long ago, a warrior should never go hungry," he smiled. "Might I escort you off the dance floor to this end? I give you my word that we will yet see more of it."
