First Circle, out on a quest with Trastion
"Of course there are," she replied, mystified by the question. "We have the Minas Tirith Playhouse up on Fourth. But I'm not talking about acting for a play, little brother!" She shot him a grin before her expression turned calmer - and even a bit mysterious. "Given what we just did - can you not imagine such skills being useful on a mission, from time to time?" She shrugged, looking ahead. "Granted, it's not part of the... regular skillset. Pretending to be someone else, for the sake of a mission. I do not get to do it often. The last time was... about half a year ago?" She fixed a strand of her hair with some extra posh gestures. "When I pretended to be a noble lady from Dol Amroth looking to find the best cloth merchant in the White City. And ended up joining him, the Captain and Duinion on a trip where it appeared he had made some unwanted connections."
She gave Trastion a meaningful look. "Just saying."
When he assured her the bottle was unbroken and they still had what they'd come for in the first place, she nodded. Pleased. "Good, because that would have been a terrible way to end our quest. Now -" The chatter did not cease between them as they arrived to the main street and made their way to Maya's. From there, it would be onward to the Wayfarer's. And from there, on to the Sixth.
Quite the quest, indeed!

"Oh." Arnyn grinned momentarily. "No, sorry, not another recruit. I meant to say Trastion. But do not be dissuaded," she reassured him with no small amount of amusement, "I'm sure he will be on his best behaviour later."
"As for the meals, I'll leave that up to you. No need to decide beforehand or inform me. I trust you will hold to your word."
Upon his further explanations about how he used to do things before his injury, the Lieutenant glanced back and forth between Duinion and their surroundings. Picking up on something she recognized as doubt at best and guilt at worst, Arnyn examined Duinion's demeanour more closely.
"I've learned we can't predict everything." For a moment, she wore a mocking smile, aimed at herself. "Try as I might. Sometimes, something unexpected simply happens. Luckily, we can take it in stride most of the time. In a small percentage of those instances, even, it's the good kind of unexpected. In another small amount of cases, however... we're faced with the bad. Orcs where there shouldn't be any. A troll of which we've had no reports. I think the only way to avoid something like that from happening, is to never do anything at all." Arnyn closed her eyes to turn her face into the sun. "Alas... or luckily - depending on how you want to look at it - that does not suit people like us."
