Gladhron | Trastion
Training grounds, secret spectators of Kaylin and Arnyn's sparring match
Late December, on the second day after Midwinter
As the sparring went on, both Gladhron and Trastion found it harder and harder to look away. Trastion widened his eyes slightly when he saw the near head-strike to Arnyn. Gladhron, meanwhile, tensed slightly. His stomach felt like it clenched up into a ball, watching how close that strike had come to seriously injuring her. And yet, she seemed completely unphased, just stepping out of the way as she blocked what could have so easily become a serious accident.
Gladhron had his arms folded under him, half-propped on his elbows. His hands gripped handfuls of the cold dirt beneath him, watching as Kaylin managed to get a strike in on Celume's side. Now that he knew who she was.. he wanted her to win. He did not like that the red-haired ranger had managed to get the first strike in, even if he did already consider Kaylin a friend. And seeing the bear strike to her head was even harder to watch.
Trastion was a little hesitant to answer Tercen's question. Remembering the guy's temper when it came to Arnyn and danger, he took a moment before slowly shaking his head. "No, not without helmets." He whispered back. "I'm guessing that was unintentional." He tore his gaze away from the fight for a quick moment, to see how Tercen might be reacting, then resumed watching. "Going that fast, it can be hard to stop instinctive attacks and things, you know?" He tried to defend Kaylin. "Takes a lot of control," He murmured, knowing quite well, by now, how much control Arnyn's fighting style took to master.
Letting out a slow breath after seeing Celume..Arnyn.. whatever, finally land a rather crippling blow to Kaylin, Gladhron felt a little wave of satisfaction, for her sake, as he released his grip on the dirt. But now.. with Kaylin wielding that crazy-looking double-bladed staff thing... he wondered how well Celume was going to do against that.
