@Lailyn I am tempted to suggest you make the manuscripts cursed or something, so as soon as they are taken out of the Library a vengeful spirit of a Librarian haunts you until you return them where they belong... Actually, there's an idea... Might need to put this one in the pot and see what comes out in the end

Lail, if you like the Evil Librarian ghost or Evil Librarian not ghost, but some sort of thing in human form unleashed when someone tries to sneak out rare and valuable manuscripts from a library thing let me know. It was initially a part of my first post for the new Rangers RPG, @Nessa Saelind, but I cut it out for time/too long. Too funny to completely forget, I stowed it in the letters thread as a compromise.

I am sure the expected chaos will feature when I start my new day in the marketplace post. First customer, already waiting, dog. Workshop in anarchy. Note basically explains as much as would a tag line “Nal was here’.

Luckily his father is used to his antics by now and has a ranger-mission length of time to think up a suitable punishment. If the dog doesn’t distract him ..

That *ought* to go without saying, but yes. He’d never actually say it, not aloud or indeed not in those exact words, but again, definitely yes.

@Ercassie - I hope he will one day. Addhor might be the type of person who is more likely to show his feelings through actions rather than words, and Nal knows that his father loves him, but it is always good to say and hear those words being said. Maybe one day *keeps fingers crossed*


Side note, it's awesome to see more stories in Windy's Short Story thread! I was so happy reading your what you wrote @Lirimaer and @Turin Ringhûn. The stories are really good.

Truth to tell, @Nessa Saelind, I only saw it in the new posts feed and thought it was in CoLP ... got a real shock when I saw the white city It was a very inspiring picture though!

@Lirimaer not the most usual place for short story competitions I agree, but I'm glad you stumbled on the thread all the same and that you wrote something. I enjoyed reading about the mischievous Duke's son and the grumpy, but kind fisherman. The ending was chef's kiss.

Ha, it wasn't until I had made it in Gondor that I thought of CoLP. The reason I picked Gondor was cause the setting looked like Gondor to me, so well yea :P *shrugs* But I am so grateful you guys joined in! <3

To be honest, when I saw it, thought it was an attempt to resurrect Naith’s old ‘Tower of Tales’ thread, that we had back in the day. So there is some sort of precedent for having that sort of activity in Gondor.

Well the next instalment can be in Gondor, or in another Kingdom - maybe it could be a roaming story thread *thinking face* Or in CoLP? I loved that the thread came into being and although it took me 75 years to write something I enjoyed it very much

Hello everyone. I'm sure you've noticed I've made some sporadic appearances over the last couple weeks. Now that life for me has calmed down quite a bit, and things are returning to normal for me and my family, I'm working on actually getting back into this. I did miss RPing with everyone.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think I ever apologized for dropping off the face of the earth last year. I'm sorry. Losing my job and then the stupidity of Covid really screwed things up in trying to earn a living to be able to pay bills. But now that I'm working again and am able to pay bills (ugh adulting sucks), things are returning to normal.

Don't know how often I'll be posting, we'll just have to take things as they come for the moment. But looking forward to continuing the story telling with my Plaza Wife Nessa Saelind (@A Good Wife) in the Free RP, and in the HoH at the moment

Lail - I need to hit you up on Discord when my brain isn't foggy to ask you about some details of the scholar's manuscripts that were taken out of the Library. I've finally managed to figure out an interesting plot that will fit well into yours and allow me to introduce my Librarian. *hugs*

@Ta'leus Shieldsong - your scholar from Dol Amroth will also make an appearance in my Librarian post , I just have to figure out how to fit her in, but I'll figure it out, I am determined.

...so you are very optimistic in thinking I have answers to those questions. Seriously though, that point has been floating around in the back of my mind and I still haven't figured it out yet. I will try to sink back into that story a little and poke my brain into mulling it over when it is also not foggy.. one thing I am sure of is that your plot will be fascinating.

and also - take your time and don't worry. If you want to write Hathaldir coming back with water if that helps in the Tower Guard, go for it! I honestly don't mind at all. I thought it would be nice for Thea to get a wee break from all the stress and a little moment with Nessa before she gets chucked in jail. (ok and also selfishly Hathaldir needed a breather)
