What're you listening to?

Yeah I get it, this is where everyone will actually post.

Well I was on a Christmas music kick for a bit, but now I'm back on my groovy indie rock vibes.

The OP clearly states that posters are to indicate what music they have been listening to, or fav. songs and artists. Neither your ruling above nor the post that I reported contained or indicated any reference to music.

I would appreciate an explanation very much as I am currently composing a hard hitting article on anti-Dwarvish bias for the Mirrormere Reflections. Thank you!

@Tree they aren’t required to post any links to music. So Arnyn is fine. Not all music can be found on YouTube and there’s the stipulation of wanting to share the link.

I’m not listening anything right now other than the quiet of my room. I like listening to various soundtracks to tv series like Gundam: the Witch from Mercury.

@Rivvy Elf, the OP requests that if you do not post a link you still indicate the music that you like. So your post above is OK. But the ruling of Silky Gooseness and the post by Arnyn are not.

@Tree Not all music can be found on the internet.

Also not at all what Dwim meant. The thread was created just to share music. What led you to believe that Dwim would clamp hard on anyone responding to someone saying “oh I heard that song before” by saying “you didn’t post any song you like! Follow the rules!”

So let’s get this thread back on track. Still not listening to anything right now. Would probably listen to an ost tomorrow.

@Rivvy Elf, you are just giving me a random interpretation of Dwim's post that suits the admin interests. Silky Gooseness gave a ruling above based on the OP. Therefore we must read the OP carefully. This is what Dwim says:

Getting this thread back on track entails first of all sorting out the rules, and second receiving some apologies for the rough justice that has been handed out by the plaza admins. It is the admins - the other two, I will say - who derailed this thread.

My rebuttal: Dwim’s words quoted opening post are not stated to be a rule and therefore may be treated as a suggestion. There are no rules stated in the opening post and therefore only general plaza rules apply.

On topic, we recently did a music quiz over Christmas where I listened to, amongst other things, a haunting mash up of Carol of the Bells and Metallica’s “One”…

I've recently been trying to listen to more positive music, as current life events have got me stressed and depressed and the "my trans experience" and "midwest angst & depression" and "you can't go back" playlists have gotten a LOT of play lately. :googly:

so today, i'm listening to "Blue in the Dark" by Bearings.

O Ranger, I will try much harder to keep a polite tongue, especially when talking with you. It was just New Year and I was excited. Will not happen again. I am a tree not a dragon.

That Skin Deep song really got under my skin, so to speak. The video helps.

Miscegenation, the oldest but greatest story in the book.

Madness - Embarrassment

That's Camden Town in the opening shot, that is. The canal is just down the road but the tube station first. Not that my trip down memory lane is of any interest to you - but that is what this thread is, no? The music we are listening to right now is always a vector of our individual hopes and fears for the future, present sense, and memories, and just about all the tracks we give here are old numbers. Jesus Hooligan was my only new discovery in months and months. Anyway, I grew up too little for punk proper and so into these Ska or Two-Tone days of the early 1980s, and only many years later did I work out how all these bands like Madness, the Specials, the Selector, the Beat were all of them covering the music of Jamaica's Prince Buster. Anyway, while all the other bands mixed black and white musicians, Madness from down my way were all white, and in their pub years had some National Front following. Years and years later, which is to say a year or two back, I watched a documentary on London music in which Sugs (Madness singer) pointed to the other side of Madness, the cockney-London vibe, inspired by Ian Dury.

Here is Lemmy playing with Hawkwind in a classic from 1972, when J.R.R. Tolkien was still alive! Imagine if you could hook up all the energy of this concert, musicians and audience together, and feed it into the plaza riddle machine.

The engine zoom from my PC, a ticking clock, the rumble of a door for the wind in the house, the rustling of wind in the branches of the trees, a sigh of myself, the constant tapping of the keyboard and babbling people on the street, chirping birds, cars that drive by etc. In other words it is not silent at daytime.
