Hi everyone - first off sorry for the delay, I was moving all weekend..

Fortunately our newly elected admins were much more prompt than I and all got back to me real quick. So I can now announce our new(ish) set of admins for Jan-June 2022 (in alphabetical order):



It was, once again, an extremely close one and a few votes difference here and there would have resulted in some different faces up there - but as it turns out, we will have a fairly experienced set of three to ring in the new year as all these folks have been admins already. So, welcome (back) you three!

And finally I want to give huge thanks once again to Tara and Lail who decided to hang up the admin hat for this round. Both did a great job and I'm personally very grateful to each for the work they've put into it.

Anyway, I think that's about it -- we'll do the normal transition thing and probably have the new group in place (and myself out-of-place more officially) by early January. Thanks again everyone for participating, especially to all the nominees who were willing to put themselves out there. you are all the best

I know this is just a small site and there likely werent all that many voting, but I am still deeply honoured that those that did think I would be a good fit as an admin again, so a huge thank you to all that voted for me <3 I will fight to keep the Plaza in the members hands, as promised and keep this place a sanctuary that we can have for many years to come <3

I am devastated that I did not get to work with Lail and Tara (again), but I completely understand the need to step down and deal with RL and other commitments. I take my hat off to anyone that can give up the "ring" ;D

Let me start by thanking everyone who participated in this process either by nominating someone(s) or voting for someone(s). We are a small community and I know that nominating and voting can sometimes be hard, but I'm so proud and grateful that you keep doing it. So thank you for everything that you do for our community.

A big thanks goes to Narv who organises all of this and does other amazing things behind the scenes.

Congratulations to Moriel and Windy for getting reelected. Moriel, as always you are a delight to work with and an awesome person! Windy, I'm really looking forward to working side by side with you because you're a fantastic and super organised dragon lady! I look forward to helping you roast encourage members to vote for MotM.

Tara, working with you was an honour and a privilege. You are a brilliant mind and an amazingly patient person who always took the time to explain things, fix bugs, show people how to do things. The admin team will not be the same without you, but I hope you'll enjoy your freedom and grace us with shenanigans, fantastically quirky crossovers and just general Taraness!

Lail, you are the bestest of birbs! Your understanding, calm, patience and unique perspective were invaluable to the admin team and I'm glad I got to work with you and I'm glad that you helped me see things and angles I didn't even think of. You have a beautiful mind and now that you are free of the admin hat I'm looking forward to reading all the stories you're going to write all over the place.

And finally, thank you to everyone who thinks I did a good job for the past 6 months and that I'm worthy of your vote and confidence. It means a lot to this old Fool of a Took that you think I'm doing a good job. Thank you!

Narv, Nessa, Moriel, Tara – Thank you for welcoming me to the team, being open minded to discussions and coming together when we needed to! Also, for putting up with my occasional slow decision making and all the feathers and guano everywhere. Seriously though, it was a privilege not just to work with you all but also to get to know you a little better.

Narv and Tara, you’ve both given so, so much to the community and all I can really say is thank you for it all so I will leave it at that.

Moriel and Nessa, I have no doubt that you’ll usher us into the next era and preserve the Narvlegacy with all the care, dedication and passion I have seen from you the last six months (and even before that, too)!

Congratulations, Windy! The above also applies to you. I know you are going to be a wonderful addition/return to the team though I do also regret missing the chance to work with you, too.

Which brings me to…Thank you for the kind words and to anyone who nominated me. I really do appreciate it but I can’t commit to another six months especially knowing, while I agree with the team downsizing, that I’d be sharing ⅓ vs. ⅕ of the responsibility. It's a little too much for this lil' birdling right now. Most of you made the last six months a pleasure and joy, thank you for that! I hope you all remember to be kind and what brings us all here together and most importantly, to have fun!

Congrats to those that got in I hope we have all of you regularly active especially with the downsizing in the team I'll miss Falaneth but respect you knowing that you don't have the time for it over six months.

@Fuin Elda We wont make any drastic changes without running it by the members :) We will keep everyone in the loop! But likely not for a while as we have 6 months lol

@Winddancer For sure! Was more meaning curious how votes/vents are going to work with Narv not being part of the process next time in terms of if something comes up against a current admin/nominated member unless I've understood his announcement completely wrong. I would hope the major points of the elections will be the same.

@Fuin Elda I also have comments/thoughts about upcoming elections and how they might run, and I am sure we are not alone in that and I expect there will be an opportunity to discuss when it gets a bit closer.

I also just wanted to add a comment on admins and activity...everyone may of course choose to nominate/vote based on whatever criteria they personally deem fitting, which to me can be part of the beauty of the electoral process, and it is definitely nice to see admins posting. However, for me personally, activity is not one of the top qualifiers I look at for in an admin. I think I've said it before, but I still maintain (also after being an admin myself) that on the NuPlaza I would like to see them have the opportunity to have fun and participate as much/as little as they so choose/are able to. If we want this site to be member-led and member-driven with elections, etc., then I believe (somewhat in contrast to the RAM system I remember on the Old Plaza) that members should be driving the activity, not the admins.

I also want to attest to the fact that while they have both openly acknowledged they have been less active lately in either TABA/OOC threads, both @Moriel and @Nessa Saelind have been there 100% of the time when they have been needed for admin stuff and I know they will be for their next term, too, regardless of how much/often they've been posting.

Edit: and sorry, to clarify, that is ME posting as ME not representing/speaking on behalf of the admin team in any way.

Congratulations to the new group of Admins. Even though, I must admit I didn't vote for any of you. (or nominate anyone...missed it completely this time around ) It is a much fairer way of deciding our form of governance than lobbing scimitars at people.
