Welcome one and all to the Springtime Festival! All throughout Rohan the air is full of promise: lambs are being born, it’s time to plant the potatoes and carrots and peas, winter bedding is being shaken out and put away, and the mares are coming into season.
In Edoras, the Rohirrim are celebrating the coming of spring and the leaving of winter in the best of ways: by holding the Spring Festival. A chance for all to gather together, meet old friends and make new acquaintances, trade for crops and items, share food, and discuss who’s getting coupled up (both for their horses, and for their humans!)
The bunting is out and the Maypole is up, so come join the fair and festivities!
THE MAYPOLE stands in the centre of the field. Eight feet tall, it is set deeply into the ground and many ribbons have been tied onto the top for the dancers to weave. At the very top has been set an apple.
THE FOOD BENCHES are set in a wide square about the Maypole. On the East side is THE BAR, with its own set of benches in front of it, where you may order food and drink, or you can request table service if you wish. There is a fire pit (closely fenced about and guarded by Sorrin the cook) on which a roast piglet is dripping. You may godmode Sorrin.
MENU: (although honestly, feel free to make stuff up if there’s something you desperately want which isn’t on here. Except Bilewitdox, because we want people to have a GOOD time)

DRINKS:
Mead / Golden ale / Red wine / Apple juice / Milk
PUDDINGS:

STALLS
Beyond the food trestles and benches are set out small temporary stores for anyone who wishes to sell their wares and trade. Imagination is your limit - feel free to make up what you would like to interact with. But what is there… All shopkeepers may be godmoded at your discretion but please don’t kill anyone.
HABERDASHERY, where ribbons and buttons and thread are being sold, as well as hair ornaments for young ladies. Run by Mistress Hasfod.
LEATHERWORK: fresh saddles, bridles, belts, boots, hats, full outfits…what? Run by Girton.
CUTLER: Spoons! Daggers! Fire guards! Other items made of metal! Run by Sabetha
TOMBOLA LUCKY DIP: Reach into the barrel!! Pull out an item (or a ball with a number on)! What will you win?? Run by Lucky Jack!
GUESS THE NUMBER: How many sweets are in the jar? Closest guess wins the jar! Run by Eadwin
PIG-WEIGHING: So you pick up the greased pig, and you guess how much it weighs, and closest guess wins the pig!! Or maybe another prize of your own choosing if for some weird reason you don’t want a pig.
FIELDS
Here the horses are kept - there’s space enough for people to try the horses out, and also for mares to be introduced to stallions if the right deal is struck.
RULES: Don’t godmode without permission, but do GM shop keeps and bar servers etc as needed ~ Canon characters first come first served ~ CWs for anything graphic ~ posts will count towards the overall SpringFest Championship
