THE CAVALRY MARSHAL ELECTIONS ARE CLOSED

Congratulations to @Gwai, @Shivased and @Taethowen who were successfully elected as our new Marshal Team.

Thank you to @Rowena Ellenweorc and @Elarith for their willingness to stand as Marshal candidates and the efforts they made with their blurbs.

Thank you also to everyone who engaged in the election process, from its first tenuous sprouting of a half-formed idea through to the last minute votes. We had almost a 100% turnout among all those cavalry people who could vote, so Bema's blessings on you all!

And especially massive thanks for the wonderful @Winddancer, my support-admin throughout this hectic and wordy endeavour; much obliged!

I hereby remove all posting restriction on this thread, so you can all go wild with welcoming in the Marshals and offering your gratitude and commiserations to the runners-up

Especially Rowena who will now step down as Second Marshal.
Love you honey :smooch:

I will also leave the bulk of the contents of this Opening Post here, for posterity's sake and to use as a reference guide for when another election is required.
But for now, that's all folks!!! :goodbye:

Welcome to more NuPlaza democracy in action!

After a mature and inclusive discussion in the Command Tent thread, the decision has been made to open the positions of all three cavalry Marshals up for election.

So how will this work?

@Winddancer and I will co-ordinate the elections and ensure that these are fair and proper. The process for the Marshal elections will be very similar to the admin elections and will undergo a 6 stage process detailed below.

1. Nominations - COMPLETE

Nominations must be sent to the admin email address [email protected]. Please ensure your email has “CAVALRY ELECTION” in the subject line. Ideally we would ask that you include the current plaza name(s) of your nomination(s), along with any other recognisable plaza name you know they have in the past (just in case they have changed their name to something silly like “Allacan’s ghost horse” for fun!). You can make a nomination anonymously if you wish, and you can also nominate more than one person. You can also nominate yourself, and if you do then you can submit your blurb (see stage 2 below) alongside your self-nomination to achieve two tasks in one email.

Feel free to include your reasons why you have nominated someone, but this is not essential. We are unlikely to publish any of your reasons publicly, and if we do it will be re-phrased and will be 100% anonymous. Your reasons will also be taken into account if I am asked to step in as HCMA to decide a tie.

You may also want to post in this thread when you have sent your nomination email in so we can be sure it has not disappeared into a junk folder by mistake.

2. Candidates write their blurb - COMPLETE

Windy and I will approach all the nominated candidates to see if they are willing to have their name considered for the role. If so, we will ask each candidate to put together a short blurb to be posted on their behalf explaining why they want to be Marshal, what they think they would bring to the role, their experience, etc.

3. Presenting the candidates
- COMPLETE

We will then post a list of the nominated candidates and their respective blurb here for people to consider, and will possibly include any comments made by the person who nominated them (anonymised, of course) if Windy and I think it is relevant.

4. Voting and Concerns - COMPLETE

Eligible voters will be asked to decide which of the candidates they would like to be a Marshal of the cavalry. We are not asking for people to decide which Marshal rank they want individuals to hold or to vote between First Marshal, Second Marshal and Third Marshal (i.e. who is the leader, who is second in command, and who is third in command) for any of the candidates. Votes are designed so you can have a say in which three cavalry members will be on the Marshal team of three, and then those three people between them will decide who is the leader, who is second in command, and who is third in command. You are allowed to vote more than once so that you can specify who your first choice for the Marshal team would be, and who your second choice (and possibly third choice) would be.

Votes must be sent to the admin email address [email protected]. Please ensure your email has the “CAVALRY ELECTION” in the subject line and it includes the names of all the people you are voting for. Please ensure your voting email includes your current plaza log-in name and your current rank in the cavalry (trainees can just put trainee). We will NOT be publishing any information on who voted for whom, nor will Allacan be made aware of this; this is purely to ensure only votes from valid voters are counted.

(Please see the Question and Answer section below regarding ‘Who can vote' and 'How many votes do I get?' for more information on those topics).

Additionally, if people have concerns about particular people or reasons they think they should NOT be a Marshal, or indeed any other considerations you want to put forward anonymously, then you will have a chance to include include these confidentially alongside your vote. Windy will anonymise these before sharing with me; we are unlikely to publish any criticisms or concerns publicly, and if we do it will be re-phrased democratically, respectfully and will be 100% anonymous, so you do not have to worry about anyone knowing who said what. These concerns will also be taken into account if I am asked to step in as HCMA to decide a tie.

Once again, you may also want to post in this thread when you have sent your voting email in so we can be sure it has not disappeared into a junk folder by mistake, but please do NOT say who you have voted for.

5. Counting the votes - COMPLETE

Windy will check the list of people who have voted against the list of valid voters detailed below, to determine if there are any invalid votes to disregard. Windy alone will then count up the valid votes (possibly with one other admin double-checking her maths) so that even I will not know who voted for whom.

Scores will be tallied in line with the scoring guidelines detailed below under the question 'How will Votes be Scored?'

(Please also see the below Question and Answer section regarding ‘What happens in the event of a tie?’)

6. Declaring the winners and handing over the reins - COMPLETE

Windy and I will approach the successful candidates with the good news and thereafter post a public announcement declaring the successful Marshals and thanking all you lovely people for taking part.

At that stage, the new Marshals may wish to open a new Dragon Room along with a new Command Tent (the latter opening post can summarise any topics still in discussion from the old one, but effectively tidying away all the discussions around the election so that focus can be turned instead to other topics).

In the interests of being diplomatic I would recommend any new Marshal team allow @Shivased and @Rowena Ellenweorc to complete any training exercises or RPGs that they have already started, however this is of course up to the new Marshal team.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Here are some answers to questions you may have:-

Who can nominate?

In the interests of being inclusive, anyone on the plaza can nominate a candidate, but this does not mean anyone can vote (see below). Given the limited number of potential candidates this may also speed the process along.

Who can be nominated?

Only currently active ranked members of the cavalry can be nominated to be Marshal. You can nominate yourself, and if you do then you can submit your blurb alongside your self-nomination to achieve two tasks in one email.

As HCMA and facilitator of the election process, I will not be standing for election, nor will I be taking any active part in submitting nominations or making comments regarding the suitability of candidates, which leaves 6 valid candidates who can be nominated for the election.

Please Note; NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

How long are nominations open for?

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED; these closed early because every valid candidate was either nominated or stated they do not wish to be a candidate.

Who can vote?

Following discussions taking place in the Command Tent thread the general consensus was that the criteria for valid voters would be:-

1. Any trainee who has begun training by the time the ballot goes live is eligible to vote. By 'begun training' we mean someone who has requested to enlist in the Dragon Room AND are either participating in the current Cav training RPG or have begun their assigned task from the current Marshals in the Cavalry Courtyard.

2. All currently enlisted Cavalry members are eligible.

On this basis, the following people are eligible to vote:-

@Aethelu (Dicun)
@Allafyrefleorhtlig
@Amadhrill
@Elarith
@Eldrith
@Éolath
@Dimcairien Luiniel (Éomund)
@Fairy Nuff (Aelflad)
@Frostbite (Walpurga)
@Gwai
@Rowena Ellenweorc
@Shivased
@Taethowen
@Thalionwen Hunigfolm

VOTING IS NOW CLOSED UNTIL THE NEXT ELECTION

How many votes do I get?

Every Cavalry member is allowed to cast one ballot, per their primary character. Votes by secondary characters are ineligible (no matter how lovely your NPCs may be).

Each ballot allows a voter to case up to three votes, which should clearly state which is the voter's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice for Marshals, to be weighted as such:- 1st choice gets 3 points, 2nd choice gets 2 points, 3rd choice gets 1 point. (Remember, as detailed above this has no bearing on which Marshal nominees will end up as First Marshal, Second Marshal, or Third Marshal. That will be decided among the final elected Marshals themselves.)

You cannot vote for the same person twice; you should include three different candidates in your ballot as 1st choice, 2nd choice and 3rd choice.

Marshal nominees are allowed to vote for themselves, provided they follow all other voting rules.

You do not have to vote three times; if you only want to vote once or twice then that is acceptable. The only exception to this rule is if a marshal candidate votes for themselves, they must then also vote for their second choice and third choice, otherwise their vote will not be deemed valid and will be discounted.

What if I change my mind after sending my votes?

In the event that you have a change of heart after emailing the admins, you can change your votes only if the voting period has not already ended. To do so, you must email the admin email address following the above criteria and clearly state THIS IS A REPLACEMENT BALLOT. In the event the admins received two sets of votes from the same email address/plaza member, only the later (most recent) email will be taken into consideration.

How long is voting open for?

VOTING IS NOW CLOSED UNTIL THE NEXT ELECTION

How will votes be scored?

The three votes cast by a valid voter as their ballot should clearly state which is the 1st choice, which is the 2nd choice and which is the 3rd choice for Marshal. These votes will be weighted as follows:- 1st pick gets 3 points, 2nd pick gets 2 points, 3rd pick gets 1 point. The three candidates with the highest total points after counting will be offered the position of Marshal, and then all three Marshals will decide between them who will be First Marshal, Second Marshal and Third Marshal.

What happens in the event of a tie?

@Allafyrefleorhtlig, unlike everyone else, will only make two votes as a cavalry member for her first and second choice. In the unlikely event of a tie, she will then use her third vote as HCMA to decide the tie based on what she believes is best for the cavalry and taking into consideration any anonymised reasons or concerns sent in alongside nominations and votes.

What else can I post here?

We would like to try and keep this thread tidy and easy to read for people who don’t necessarily have time to read through all the posts in the Command Tent . To enable this, please avoid debating topics or asking questions here and instead take such queries or discussion to the Command Tent thread.

As much as I love all you mischief-makers and chaots, role players and debaters, poets and out-of-character cheerleaders, please try and refrain yourselves. :smooch:

What if I still have Questions and Queries?

If you have any questions, concerns or queries you can post them in the Command Tent with an @Allafyrefleorhtlig, and I will respond as soon as I can. Alternatively, Windy and I are both approachable off plaza on discord as Tanae#9119 (Windy) and Beorhtlig#1176 (Allacan), or by email on [email protected] (Windy) and [email protected] (Allacan).

As usual, the admin email address [email protected] can also be used to contact our lovely admin team.

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

The response to nominations has been overwhelming, so thank you to all of you who have taken part.

All potential candidates have been contacted and have confirmed whether or not they would be willing to stand for election for the role of Marshal.

Windy or I will shortly be posting the list of candidates up for election along with a blurb from each of them about why they would like to be Marshal, what they believe they could bring to the role, their relevant experience, etc.
In the meantime, we hope that a general consensus on who can vote, how many votes people have and how these votes are counted can be agreed upon in the Command Tent thread so that we can begin the voting process as soon as the candidate list is posted.

I PRESENT YOUR CANDIDATES

In alphabetical order, the candidates for the role of Marshal and their relevant blurbs are detailed below. We have posted these each candidates comments without amendments so that each person has their fair say.

If you nominated someone whose name does not appear on this list, that is because the person you nominated has politely declined to stand for the election, although they took the nomination as a big compliment so thank you.

@Elarith

Current rank and position: Dryhtguma of the Westmark

Previous Ranks/Experience:-
Came up through the ranks over the course of a few years on OldPlaza, from sperewigend, sweordwigend, æthelwigend, possible Feldmarshal but might’ve skipped that one then Marshal.
Served as Marshal back in ‘06ish, when activity levels were still fairly high. Helped develop the badges (sort of extra-curricular activity), trained new recruits, general Cavalry stuff (maybe an RPG?).
Other generic Plaza experience: edited the Raedboda, ran a newbie RPG that took on a life of its own, ran the Riddermarket, was Ruler for about 6 months, contributed to IK Debate and Drill. A wide variety of activities both in kingdom and IK, RP and games. Other things that I’ve forgotten about!
Off Plaza am secretary of a local archery club and library supervisor dealing with the ever interesting general public.

What they say:-
Elarith wrote: Why I would like to be a Marshal:

I’ve done it previously and it was a great experience, one of the things I was proudest of on OldPlaza. I think I could do a decent job again.

What I can bring to the role:

Generally available most evenings (GMT), poke my head in the Discord chat
Pretty organised and dependable, open-minded and laid back.

A note of caution:

As a heads up regarding availability, I’m currently on maternity leave however I’m going back to work in mid-September (all being well). I would hope to still have enough energy and time to post and be around on an evening - usually work is a nice break from the kids - but it might be that I’m done in. Should that happen and I’m holding things up by not being around I would seek to resign early.

@Gwai

Current rank and position: Pӕthfindian of Meduseld

Previous Ranks/Experience:-
Cavalry experience: Sperewigend, Dryhtguma, and Pӕthfindian of Meduseld. Veteran of the Southern Storm campaign, Fords of Isen, and probably some others I can't quite recall. Approximately from 2005-2009 (in RL years, of course!)

Plaza Experience - Old Plaza
Ran Rohan's IK racing, was head of the caption contest (it was more formal back then!), helped out and participated in all festivals. Owner of the tack shop in the Riddermarket. Participated in most RPGs, as well as ran several. Spent much time drinking in the pub. Owned the "famous" house Key Lime Pie. Member of the Feorsteorra clan.

Plaza Experience - New Plaza:
Have a good relationship with other kingdoms. Currently active in the IK Word Sleuth in Imladris, participating in the Queen's Quest in Gondor, Mordor's Thief Hunt and other light RPGs (racing, etc), Fangorn's Never-Ending Story, and the Axe-Throwing Contest in Khazad-Dum.
In Rohan, co-judge of the Miss Meduseld competition, battered from Tub Racing, went in circles in the Badger Chase, and lost in Orthanc in the Tower's Ascent. Re-established as owner of the tack shop in the Riddermarket.

What they say:-
Gwai wrote: IC Gwai: Gwai is a fiercely loyal woman, who, while not afraid of conflict, is also not afraid to take a peaceful approach if the situation warrants. She will defend to the death her King, country, and family, and fully considers her fellow cavalry members family. If elected Marshal, she will continue to promote cavalry training and teamwork, and would work to establish a serious IK campaign, and frequent lighthearted RPGs as well.

RL Gwai: RL Gwai is 34 years old, an ER APRN, and is highly skilled in time management, delegation, and making split second life and death decisions. Before going back to grad school several years ago, RL Gwai was a charge nurse in the 2nd busiest trauma ER in the state of Florida, reinforcing her critical thinking and prioritization skills, and teaching her leadership qualities and conflict resolution. She also taught skill classes to newbies, and enjoyed the teaching aspect very much. She was a member of the trauma committee, as well as the inter-hospital system Professional Practice Council, which taught her patience as well as how to deal with frustration with bureaucracy in a professional manner.

RL Gwai's plaza availability is variable by time, but is available every day (with few exceptions) as she works rotating shifts, and does not have to be on call.

Summary:
IC Gwai will use these skills as marshal to help shape the cavalry into the most efficient fighting unit it can be through example and instruction. She will utilize her conflict resolution skills to resolve disputes, and encourage new members to show initiative and ingenuity, all the while trying to make sure the cavalry pubs don't burn down with too much regularity!

@Rowena Ellenweorc

Current rank and position: Second Marshal of the Westmark, Bealdorhaelend, Healand (NPC), Dryhtguma (NPC)

Previous Ranks/Experience:- Dryhtguma, Haelend, Bealdorhaelend, 3rd Marshal, 2nd Marshal, Marshal of the ever troublesome Westmark Eored

What they say:-
Rowena Ellenweorc wrote:On Being a Marshal:

I'll be honest, being thrown into the limelight however many years ago was not my intention when I stood up for Rohan during a chaotic time of drama shortly after the creation of regions. But I have always been that person who is loyal to duty, and to the people I loved. And ever since moving to Rohan (which admittedly I should have done long before I did, but at the same time I don't regret the experiences I had in other kingdoms because I wouldn't have met the awesome people I did.) I've been in love. I sadly let myself get manipulated but when I realized the damage, I came out stronger than ever, and I fought. I fought to save our Rohan, bring it back from the brink of death. I fought to bring life back to Isengard, and Fangorn, but sadly my time was cut short. It left someone I still love dearly, my big british brother, in a lurch, and I swore to him, and to Shiva, and to Rohan, and to Widfara, now that I think of it, that I would keep Rohan together. I have for the 9 years since my abrupt dismissal, for reasons I still don't understand, from Valinor, worked hard to keep Rohan alive, sometimes, it seemed like it was I was alone. It was hard for me when old plaza went down, like I broke my own damn oath. But then, Narv created this new plaza. It was like I was given a second chance. And I told Shiva the moment I saw the new plaza was created, and the first thing out of her mouth was 'WE HAVE TO BRING BACK THE CAVALRY!' So we did. And I can't be more proud that it has grown in the short time that it has to the point that we can hold discussions about how it should work, and not just rely on me and Shiva's opinions anymore. I can't be more proud that there are people who are willing to take some of the weight off our shoulders too. As much as we can be too proud to admit it, Shiva and I have carried a lot of weight on our shoulders. As did Dragon-helm, which is why he faded from plaza.

Okay, so this has been a bit of a sob story, which was not originally my intent. Like I said, Almost 11 years ago when regions had been created, I had not intended to be tossed into the limelight. I simply wanted to help. That's still how I operate. Some people might think I thirst for power. And I admit, sometimes I can come off strong and overbearing. I don't exactly have the best communication skills. But that is not my intent at all. I don't do anything for power. I do things because of love and devotion and duty, which I believe is what should be the real intent of anyone who leads, especially in a militaristic position. Even it's just for RP purposes.

I also have to confess something. I'm really terrified. Rohan and the Cavalry mean everything to me. These new changes, I must confess, while I agree with many of them, are freaking scaring the hell out of me. You probably noticed my fear a bit in the command tent. But for Taethowen's retraining task, I gave her the task of telling me what the Ellenweorc motto means to her, because her character was filled with self doubt. When she returned, I explained that it is okay to have doubt, to be afraid, but it's what we do with that fear and that doubt that matters. Over the years, I've learned this lesson well. I am learning this lesson now as I finally conquer the self-doubt I've had for 12 years and go back to school. I hope I can be an inspiration to even one person, however small, and teach this lesson to someone. If I haven't already. That's why I do what I do. I never want anyone to feel small and insignificant like I've felt in my life. I'm here for you. I love my Rohan, and always will be. Hugs and Kisses.

"In War we know Willpower, In Peace we know Love."

@Shivased

Current rank and position: First Marshal, Eastmark Eored.

Previous Ranks/Experience:- Joined the Plaza in 2004, and the Cavalry in 2005 as a Dryhtguma of the Sceaduwigend Corthor. Moved on to Aethelwigend, Feldmarshal, Larmagister (Cavalry Trainer) and marshal, in that order. Allin the Eastmark. Laedenmagister of the Riddermarket, Ruler of Rohan. Captain of the Western Mountains Word Sleuth team.

What they say:-

Shivased wrote:I am an organized person who works well in both structured and unstructured environments, which is important for a marshal. I'm flexible and versatile. I am also familiar with military-style structure, as I come from a military background. I grew up in the Canadian Cadet Program and am an officer in the same now. I was also in the military for a brief time. This gives me a good insight into how the Cavalry is structured and why, and allows me to work very well within such an environment.

Being a leader in a military environment, I am also able to work within a team, encouraging and supporting others in creating and running activities, sharing ideas and encouraging and supporting people to develop their own skills and confidence. I am able to split tasks and duties within a team so that everyone has equal shares and is supported by each other in their tasks. I'm not someone who needs to be in charge all the time or have to be involved in everything; I encourage others to take charge and develop themselves wherever possible and try to encourage positive interactions between people.

I am also very enthusiastic and creative. I love to create new threads and ideas, as well as help build on other people's ideas. I had a lot of fun recently doing this in the Summer Festival. I brought up an idea and was then able to work with other plaza members to create a fun festival for people to enjoy. In the past I've created and run threads like Survivor: Riddermark, Mettare feasts, and Cavalry RPGs like the Hunt in the Firien Wood. I also was part of the team that created the Training Badges, a series of badge qualifications in Cavalry-related topics. I have a lot of ideas for how to grow and expand the Cavalry and give members new and fun opportunities for RP and building skills.

Finally, I am an open, inviting and easy to talk to person. I love to chat and interact with people, and pride myself on being approachable and objective, and someone who is willing to work with my co-marshals or Cavalry members to find solutions to any issues or concerns that come up, in a way that is satisfactory to everyone and in the best interests of the Cavalry as a whole.

@Taethowen

Current rank and position: Pæthfindian of the Eastmark

Previous Ranks/Experience:-
Third Marshal of the Mark (approximately fall 2005 - summer 2006)
Ærest Pæthfindian (spring/summer 2004 - fall 2005)
Pæthfindian (early 2004)
initially joined the Cavalry in summer/fall 2003

Most, if not all, of these positions were held in the Eastmark eored. I was the Ærest Pæthfindian who trained Fyrefly/Allacan and appointed her as my successor when I was promoted to Marshal. I trained other pæthfindians for the Eastmark as well.

I am a veteran of the Northern Wind & Southern Storm campaign (joint military RPG between Rohan and Gondor which started in 2004), and served as Ærest Pæthfindian during that. If my memory serves me correctly (because the archive threads won't open), I was promoted to Third Marshal in the direct aftermath of this campaign.

I stepped down as Marshal in 2006 because I did not have the time to give that the Cavalry and its participants deserved.

What they say:-
Taethowen wrote:I want to help create a thriving, self-sustaining Cavalry in which its participants are all capable of moving through the ranks and taking command in their own turns. This means expectations need to be clear, and guidelines for both IC and OOC responsibilities need to be assembled. That is one of the first tasks I would love to take on as a Marshal.

Additionally, in real life, I served as a Municipal Liaison (regional chapter head) for NaNoWriMo for ten years. My local region has over 1,000 registered participants, and with the help of my co-ML, we ran virtual and in-person events every November to encourage our participants to write their stories. While the logistics of it were not quite the same as running an RPG army, a lot of the skills will translate over, such as: keeping participants excited and encouraged, coordinating with admins/moderators for inter-regional events, and a willingness to sacrifice time to make room for something I love.

While I believe I was a decent Marshal 15 years ago, I know that I can now be an amazing Marshal if given the chance again.

I have included my thoughts as High Councillor for Military Affairs on what I believe makes a Good Marshal, for everyone to consider when they cast their votes:-
Allafyrefleorhtlig wrote:In my opinion, the ideal Marshal is organised, enthusiastic, diplomatic, approachable, trustworthy and creative. A good Marshal should understand how the kingdom and how the cavalry work together, someone who can be both a good role-play example and also a caretaker of all cavalry-related activities and archives.

A good Marshal is a team player who supports others to run RPGs and develop their own skills. Someone who doesn’t feel they have to always play the game themselves, but encourages positive and cooperative interactions between others by facilitating safe spaces for them to do so.

An ideal Marshal would be someone who can build relationships with not only their immediate comrades, but also other cavalry members and trainees and any number of people outside the cavalry, such as other army leaders and admins. Being able to train and develop others peoples skills, or having lots of creative and original ideas for how the cavalry can grow and expand its game for players is also very handy.

Organisation and time is extremely handy for a Marshal, however more important is for a Marshal to understand their own strengths and weakness, and be willing to ask for and accept help when they need it. The Marshals team should include a mix of skills and perspectives, so as to better compliment each other, and not every individual Marshal needs to be perfect at everything.

Marshals also need to be able to be objective, and able to make decisions based on what is best for the cavalry, rather than what they or their friends want. It’s a challenging role, but I think everyone who has held the rank would agree that it’s absolutely worth it!"

And now that the business of candidates has been completed, without further ado I do declare...

VOTING IS NOW OPEN

I have updated the rules on Voting in the top post based on what appeared to be the general consensus in the Command Tent thread.

On that basis, and with reference to the Dragon Room roster which appears to be up to date, the following people will therefore be allowed to vote in the Marshal's election:-

@Aethelu (Dicun)
@Allafyrefleorhtlig
@Amadhrill
@Elarith
@Eldrith
@Éolath
@Dimcairien Luiniel (Éomund)
@Fairy Nuff (Aelflad)
@Frostbite (Walpurga)
@Gwai
@Rowena Ellenweorc
@Shivased
@Taethowen
@Thalionwen Hunigfolm

Before you cast your vote: Please carefully re-read the opening post guidance on "Stage 4 - Voting and Concerns" and the Question and Answer section regarding ''Who can vote?' , 'How many votes do I get?' and 'What if I change my mind after sending my votes?' . Any votes that do not follow the guidelines detailed in these sections may be discounted.

Voting will close early at 3pm PST on Friday 17th July (which is 6pm EST or 11pm BST)

Half of who can vote have voted! Well done guys! Don't feel stressed to get your votes in though. Think on this carefully as it is the future of the Cavalry, make sure you vote for those that meet your criteria :)

Thank you to everyone!

We have had such an overwhelming response to the voting that it looks like we will be able to close voting very soon; we require only one more person to vote to enable us to close early.

If the last people want their votes to be counted in the final decision then I highly recommend they vote as soon as possible @Aethelu, @Eldrith, @Éolath and @Rowena Ellenweorc.

Voting will close early at 3pm PST on Friday 17th July (which is 6pm EST or 11pm BST)

... your MARSHALS:-

@Gwai, @Shivased and @Taethowen

I hereby remove all posting restriction on this thread, so you can all go wild with welcoming in the Marshals and offering your gratitude and commiserations to the runners-up, especially Rowena who will now step down as Second Marshal. Love you honey :smooch:

Allacan the HCMA grabs a generous drink, salutes the new Marshals with it, and downs it in one, before adding with a gleam of mischief in her eye "Cavalry is your problem now, suckers!"

FORTH EORLINGAS!
:hobbyhorse:
Y'all... I love you. :grouphug:

I love Rohan. I love the Cavalry. Having to step down as 3rd Marshal so many years ago was a legit regret that I've harbored for many RL years, even when not on the Plaza, and I'm so excited to be able to have a second stab at being Marshal again. I hope to do you proud!

@Allafyrefleorhtlig and @Winddancer - THANK YOU for giving up your time to help facilitate this election. We could not have done this without out you two. :smooch:

@Frostbite :smooch:

@Rowena Ellenweorc Thank you! Go get your bealdorhæland badge, yes! Thank you for everything you've done for Rohan and the Cav so far.

@Dimcairien Luiniel MISCHIEF, MAYHEM, AND GLORY, WHAT ELSE?

@Tarawen :smooch:

@Elarith Maybe next go-around you'll be ready. I think you'll be an excellent Marshal when the right time comes along for you! :wink:

@Gwai and @Shivased I am so excited to get to work with you two! We all definitely crossed paths on Old Plaza in the Cavalry way-back-when, and it'll be nice to try and capture some of the old glory days again!

Thanks everyone! You're all amazing and I love you! :grouphug: We are going to have plenty of horsey shenanigans in the future! :hobbyhorse:

@Allafyrefleorhtlig and@Winddancer - Thank you for taking this on and being our impartial governing team! You did an amazing job and we're all in your debt for helping!

@Rowena Ellenweorc Thank you for all the time you have put into the Cavalry and running it with me, and enjoy having your pretty flower back!

@Elarith You were an excellent marshal in the past, and I know you will be again in the future! Thank you for being willing to take on the duty and I hope you get a chance!

@Taethowen and @Gwai I can't wait to start plotting and planning and see what you bring to the Cavalry!

@Eldrith I hope we will! Not for our sake as Marshals, but for the Cavalry as a whole. I hope we can shape it to be even better than I recall its 'glory days' being!

@Fairy Nuff Hopefully nothing too crazy, but just enough to make it thrive!

Congratulations, @Gwai, @Taethowen (whom I struggle not to write Tæthowen every time) and @Shivased ! I am looking forward to see what you guys will get up to!

@Elarith and @Rowena Ellenweorc, thank you for volunteering your time and effort for the cavalry, a special thanks to @Rowena Ellenweorc for being one of the founding (sorry if that is misspelled) parents of the NuPlaza cavalry. Without you we would not be here today!

And thanks to @Winddancer, @Allafyrefleorhtlig, and Narv for securing us a fair and democratic election.
