@Lailyn medical alcohol is usually 70%, at least the ones I use are 70% - that's the optimal amount for disinfection There's a 90% one, but it's more for quick dry because of the high percentage of ethanol it evaporates quickly Wouldn't recommend drinking either without diluting it Thanks for attending Chemistry class with Nessa

And lo, Minas Tirith has an Announcement Hall! I'm not much for photo editing, although I did plan to put an arch over the photo of the Baška tablet with the words MT Announcement Hall but I'll see how that goes. Might write a blurb for the post though.

On another note I was wondering if there would be any interest in a holiday (Yule) teamed pub or some kind of relaxed celebration party thread? I thin Gondor used to have a Yule ball or something back in OP? Rohan has several Mettarë related threads, and I was planing on writing some holiday related stories for my PC and NPCs that are currently in Gondor in the free RP threads... I kind of wanted to know if there was any interest in having such a thread here, because it would give a lot of our characters to hang out in a relaxed setting, since we Gondorians have a tendency to specialise and stick to our specialisation

There is a rather smaller activity here than in other kingdoms so I worry that a ball might be overkill, especially with the Lindon ball still in full swing. But what do you think ?

@Ercassie - A pop up pub sounds perfect! My original idea was to have 5 pop up pubs of Yulemas (one for each circle, excluding the 6th and 7th circle), so we could go on a pub crawl like the famous 12 Pubs of Christmas but I think that would be a bit of an overkill Although, if anyone wants too have at it. Anyway, the pop up pub is an excellent choice, relaxed enough and people can then choose how formal they want to be with clothes and stuff, while still being festive. :-)

We did tie down a name and theme, as well as worked a menu out yesterday though. So it’s simply a case of perfecting the pretty image to make it sparkle, and it should be posted up tonight-ish.

Who says that we can't? Except the steep incline, the architecture of Minas Tirith and the facts that the City Guard would have us all arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour and disturbing the King's peace. But it would be so fun to write!

Not to be fussy, well maybe just a little fussy ! The Global announcements thread also has our Old GUESThouse pub wrongly recorded as the old GATEhouse pub. It was duly added wrong in the festive face announcement as well as a consequence.

Not that I’d really worry too much about the name of a pub, normally, but that particular one is actually canon and mentioned by Tolkien in his descriptions of Minas Tirith.

I'm not sure if you mentioned it somewhere (I'll have to reread some), but I will attempt to write a post for the pub today (along with some other posts that need to be finished right after I stuff my face with food after lunch ) and I' was thinking of having Nessa's daughter, Ellin, inviting them to come play with her or something.

@Winddancer I do believe you are a psychic Nazgul! I was going to name the laughing-guard-in-trouble Beldin (no lie!) but that would be very confusing with a Sargeant Beldir around!
FYI - Hathaldir has not joined the Tower Guard for altruistic reasons and if you want Captain Bealthor to figure it out eventually (and possibly fire him) that's absolutely fine with me. He is basically there to ferret out information to get revenge. I'm not really sure how far I want to go with this idea but I don't want to blindside you or your character or anything. Hathaldir will also be extra interested in asking Thea about the library for my half-baked backstory reasons which is briefly hinted at in my last post.

The captain could blow a gasket Ms Irma could faint from the high blood preasure causing a huge scandal and possible inquiry into what was she doing alone with the captain.
