Gladhron & Gwestion
At the table with Celume
Common room
Gwestion focused for a moment on taking slow breaths in, and letting it back out. With his eyes closed, he didn't see Gladhron's eyeroll or any other expressions, and he tried to shut out the obvious statement he had made to Celume. The fingers of his right hand curled into his palm as he sat with his forehead pressed against his clasped hands. He could feel the lingering traces of the scar on that hand. Though the wound had healed, the memories of how they had treated the pair of wounded rangers.. that was much harder to forget. But he was displeased with himself for giving in to the temper that had arisen. "I should not have lost my temper," He muttered, annoyed with himself for that. He should have been better than that... shouldn't have turned back. Should have kept quiet and not let his anger take over for that brief moment...
Celume's words drew him back to the present moment. As Gwestion lifted his head, he mentally pushed away the memories of having to lie helplessly, fighting fear, anxiety, hunger, and everything else, while a plate of food had been left carelessly on the bedside table, just out of his reach, and the innkeeper's wife hurrying out of the room without heeding his pleas for news of his brother. And hearing later about how she had done nothing to stop Gladhron when he set off into the woods with a head injury so bad he could hardly see straight... He focused instead on what Celume had just said.
"Any ideas on where to look for him?" He asked her, frowning thoughtfully. All he had so far was a name. Though, maybe.. hmm. He rubbed his temples thoughtfully. "I wonder if there would be any sort of office where they keep records of such transactions," He mused aloud, thinking perhaps, if they could find some sort of document or record of the sale, it might include some sort of contact information or an address or something to help them track the man down.
"Also.. I wonder if we would get anything useful if we questioned those bandits," He couldn't help mentioning. The worry that the bandits may have intercepted the new innkeeper had been nagging at him for a while now, though he hoped that was not the case.
"Or, maybe he's sitting back with a fishing pole, enjoying the day and taking it easy.. he could have hired someone to work the inn for him and they just.. didn't go out there?" Gladhron tried to offer a more optimistic option, even if it was a bit far-fetched. He didn't have to ask why Gwestion had thought of asking the bandits, and he thought it best to offer at least a few more options to consider. When Gwestion glanced at him, he smiled. "Or, maybe he bought it on a whim and then decided he didn't want it after all? He might have put it up for sale, only without anyone at the inn knowing it was for sale." He shrugged. "You have to consider all the options."
