Now the 'mostly plant-based' clue doesn't match up (my hobbit mind is filled with Old Toby and cake, my knowledge of the craft of smithing and metal work is lacking), but is this possibly the One Ring?

Hi Turien,
You could eat small amounts of me, as I stated previously. I, for one, would not attempt to eat the Ring. It would crack my old teeth, for sure. And, if I swallowed it whole, I'd worry what it would ring around, like Mr. Intestine. Although, invisible poop might be a hoot.

Yes, @AnsonLongbottom, I am a map. But whether I am a map of the whole Shire or just the routes Bilbo liked to walk is debatable. The map in question is the one that hung in Bilbo's hall.
