1. IT IS SAID THAT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SKIN A CAT. HOW MANY WAYS ARE THERE TO SKIN A PERSON WHO WOULD SKIN A CAT? There's no wrong way to eat a Ree...er, I mean, probably even more ways than there are the skin the cat, given the greater surface area of the average person versus the average cat.
2. WHY DO MORTALS, IN THEIR LIMITED GIVEN TIME, FEEL THE NEED TO COMPLICATE THINGS SO? I think rather that things are already very complicated, and life is much about simplifying them.
3. WHAT TYPE OF CURRY IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD? Man this is a tough question. Some kind of yellow curry is probably the correct answer, but I've had some really good red currys too. Not so much a fan of the green. Nationality-wise, I need to diversify, but I think Indian has been my favorite so far.

1. IT IS SAID THAT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SKIN A CAT. HOW MANY WAYS ARE THERE TO SKIN A PERSON WHO WOULD SKIN A CAT? - We are legion.
2. WHY DO MORTALS, IN THEIR LIMITED GIVEN TIME, FEEL THE NEED TO COMPLICATE THINGS SO? - Because keeping things simple would be ,too simple.
3. WHAT TYPE OF CURRY IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD? - False premise. BBQ is the best food.

1. IT IS SAID THAT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SKIN A CAT. HOW MANY WAYS ARE THERE TO SKIN A PERSON WHO WOULD SKIN A CAT? The traditional authority on skinning people who skin cats, Queen Berúthiel, documented 69 techniques, but some experts maintain there is no strict upper limit, given sufficient creativity.
2. WHY DO MORTALS, IN THEIR LIMITED GIVEN TIME, FEEL THE NEED TO COMPLICATE THINGS SO? If things were simple, we'd have too much time to contemplate how little time we really have.
3. WHAT TYPE OF CURRY IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD? Also vindaloo.

1. IT IS SAID THAT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SKIN A CAT. HOW MANY WAYS ARE THERE TO SKIN A PERSON WHO WOULD SKIN A CAT? Infinite ways. If you make it last long enough, their skin will start to grow back, too
2. WHY DO MORTALS, IN THEIR LIMITED GIVEN TIME, FEEL THE NEED TO COMPLICATE THINGS SO? Because their given time is limited.
3. WHAT TYPE OF CURRY IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD? I also don’t really like curry. All the more for you, Lord.

1. IT IS SAID THAT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SKIN A CAT. HOW MANY WAYS ARE THERE TO SKIN A PERSON WHO WOULD SKIN A CAT? Only one way...painfully. Poor cat.
2. WHY DO MORTALS, IN THEIR LIMITED GIVEN TIME, FEEL THE NEED TO COMPLICATE THINGS SO? I think it is linked to our innate search to find either a short cut or an improvement - we try things for the first time, and sometimes we fail, but even if we try again and succeed the next time, we still have to face the consequences of the first failure. Sometimes we face it and deal with it, and sometimes we run away from it. If we didn't try the short cut or improvement, life would be simple. If we try it, and then also run away from the failure, life is incredibly complicated. But out of this complication also comes things like better quality of life, innovation etc.

2. WHY DO MORTALS, IN THEIR LIMITED GIVEN TIME, FEEL THE NEED TO COMPLICATE THINGS SO? It's our way to feel important when we're really nothing more than a speck of dust in the universe.

1. IT IS SAID THAT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SKIN A CAT. HOW MANY WAYS ARE THERE TO SKIN A PERSON WHO WOULD SKIN A CAT? I'm pretty sure that's a permutation equation and I don't do that kind of math anymore.
2. WHY DO MORTALS, IN THEIR LIMITED GIVEN TIME, FEEL THE NEED TO COMPLICATE THINGS SO? Time doesn't feel limited when you're experiencing it.
3. WHAT TYPE OF CURRY IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD? Not too spicy.

1. IT IS SAID THAT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SKIN A CAT. HOW MANY WAYS ARE THERE TO SKIN A PERSON WHO WOULD SKIN A CAT? Ways limited only by the collective imaginations of cat-lovers, which are infinite.

2. WHY DO MORTALS, IN THEIR LIMITED GIVEN TIME, FEEL THE NEED TO COMPLICATE THINGS SO? Because the world is complicated?

3. WHAT TYPE OF CURRY IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD? A good Keralan prawn curry is a wonderful thing. Although I am fond of most curries. Depending on how exactly we define 'curry', I also make a good red lentil dal.

DWIM IS CORRECT. YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD IS THAI GREEN CURRY. I ALSO VERY MUCH ENJOYED THALIONWEN'S TREATISE ON EFFIECIENCY AND PROFESSIONALISM.

YOU ARE BOTH DISQUALIFIED.

FAIRY NUFF, YOUR SECOND ANSWER MADE MY HEAD HURT. IN A BAD WAY. THE QUESTIONS ARE YOURS.

Haha, oops sorry, didn't get the memo first time!
OK, three questions:

1) If the answer is 42, what is the question?
2) How many Nazgul does it take to change a light bulb?
3) What single event in LOTR would you change to give an alternative ending?

1) If the answer is 42, what is the question? Life
2) How many Nazgul does it take to change a light bulb? This is a trick question, no Nazgûl knows what a lightbulb is
3) What single event in LOTR would you change to give an alternative ending? Honestly, none, everything played out the way it had to, that's how mythic fantasy goes
"We are born of the blood, made men by the blood, undone by the blood. Our eyes have yet to open... Fear the Old Blood..."

1) If the answer is 42, what is the question? What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
2) How many Nazgul does it take to change a light bulb? 9. One to change the lightbulb and the other eight to yell at the one changing it about how he is doing it wrong.
3) What single event in LOTR would you change to give an alternative ending? The only thing I can think of is maybe the death of Theoden?

*hops into the game very late*

1) If the answer is 42, what is the question? How many times does a rooster crow in a day?
2) How many Nazgul does it take to change a light bulb? Two. One to replace the light bulb, and the other to make sure the light stays switched off until the change is complete and both have exited the room safely. Because clearly as slaves of the dark lord, they are allergic to light.
3) What single event in LOTR would you change to give an alternative ending? I can't believe no one's said Boromir's death yet?! Like. All the events in Minas Tirith would have been SO DIFFERENT (I think in better ways) if Boromir had lived. At the least, Faramir would not have had to face Denethor at his father's worst without someone to lean on.

2) How many Nazgul does it take to change a light bulb? Why would Nazgûl want the lights to come on?
3) What single event in LOTR would you change to give an alternative ending? I'd make Sam a talking bovine and he'd be Frodo's security cow and he would just carry Frodo through Mordor. So I guess no changes to the ending, just a cow-friend along the way.

2) How many Nazgul does it take to change a light bulb? A Nazgûl has no light, a Nazgûl needs no light
3) What single event in LOTR would you change to give an alternative ending? If the eagles hadn't come Sam and Frodo would've been really proper tragic heroes

If the answer is 42, what is the question?

2) How many Nazgul does it take to change a light bulb?
One Wraith to change them all, one Wraith to blind them;
One Wraith to bring them all, and in the Darkness scream that the light-bulb has to really WANT to change

3) What single event in LOTR would you change to give an alternative ending? ok so hear me out Aragorn ends up snogging Éowyn outside the Paths of the Dead and they have a brief but torrid wartime affair and their eventual child Éodarion challenges Eldarion for the Throne of Gondor, not being heir to Rohan but being a non-essential royal so anyway the kingdoms of Men collapse and a New Shadow arises

you know, something like that

3) What single event in LOTR would you change to give an alternative ending? Frodo sacrifices himself with the Ring. I wouldn't actually make this change, but it's the only big one I can think of that would still be worthy of the story.

1. Where are my glasses? On top of your head, or wherever you left them
2. Who is your favourite fictional heroine and why? Argh. This is a terrible question! I can't pick a single favorite, but for the sake of the question I'll say Margaret of Anjou in Henry VI parts 1, 2, and 3. She was obviously a real person, but Shakespeare's characterization of her counts as a fictional heroine (or antiheroine) in my mind :smiley15:

1. Where are my glasses? Have tried your face? That's where mine usually are so I can only assume yours might be in a similar location
2. Who is your favourite fictional heroine and why? Major Kira from Star Trek DS9. She was my first real TV crush. She wasn't a super extraordinary super human characters, she was "badass normal" and she taught me that it's okay to be angry, even if you want to be angry all the time, you just have to direct your anger into something useful

1. Where are my glasses? Under the bed.

2. Who is your favourite fictional heroine and why? Can it be one from one of my own stories that's not published yet? If so, I have a character named Zareja in one of my works-in-progress. She's been stuck in a lot of terrible situations and had to make some awful choices because of that, and she has a lot of regrets (and one Particularly Big Regret). But she doesn't let those regrets stop her from becoming more, and learning to fight and protect what she loves. I love her because a) I see a lot of myself in her, b) because there's aspects of her that are so opposite of me that she feels like a living person vs. a story character, and c) knowing how this character is going to change and grow despite all the obstacles put in her path gives me hope that, well, maybe I can do the same too.

Oops I wrote a novel there.

2. Who is your favourite fictional heroine and why? That's a bloody hard question, especially when it comes to movies and tv. Buffy kicks butt, as does Zoe from Firefly. When it comes to books I guess I can try and be pretentious, but I'm going to be the usual HP nerd and go with Hermione :smiley15: She's pretty aspirational.

1. Where are my glasses? hmm close to the location you do your skincare routine?
2. Who is your favourite fictional heroine and why? Gosh there are a lot of deserving heroine's, but I'm going to choose Eowyn considering which forum I'm on. Because she was a strong female who would not be boxed in, and told she couldn't do something because of her sex.

1. Where are my glasses? You ate them. Next time don't skip lunch :smiley10:
2. Who is your favourite fictional heroine and why? Captain Janeway - she always did what was right, even if it wasn't easy, even if it cost her personally, even if she had to ignore her own feelings to get things done right. Never a shortcut, never compromising, sometimes earning the enmity of her friends and loved ones. That's strength, sticking to your principles no matter what. And in the end it earned her loyalty and respect, even if that took a while, and SPOILER (she got her crew home!)

2. Who is your favourite fictional heroine and why? Gosh there are a lot of deserving heroine's, but I'm going to choose Eleowyn considering which forum I'm on. Because she was a strong female who would not be boxed in, and told she couldn't do something because of her sex.
I too greatly admire our own @Eléowyn, but I am guessing you mean Eowyn?
