Plaza History Project: KINGDOMS Ruler Icons

Eru introduced single Rulers for all Kingdoms and 3 Admins in January [2002].

We need your help! The ultimate goal is to get together a timeline of sorts, with rulers' names and their icons in some sort of order for those who want to walk through the plaza's history. Some people find this sort of thing interesting. What?

This is probably not a comprehensive collection of icons - much that should not have been forgotten was lost - but it should give us a starting point at least. Please do feel free to add any icons you find - I will try and update this post every so often so I/we don't go insane - poke me to do it if necessary. Gently. Or get an admin to do it!

Also, we have so many gaps - please feel free to jump in and help!

A word of warning, though, for those of you who are wandering through different areas of the wayback: you might have quite mixed results, with some icons being overwritten by others, so not giving a true reflection of who had what. For an example, see Imladris below - the kingdom pages don't change the icons with every new ruler, so 3 people have the same icon, which is unlikely... Your memory may be a truer reflection, unless you are as forgetful as me.

L9 is Dincairwen (n instead of m)
I think Pele was Faramir till early 2016? Whenever the admin election happened on Old Plaza.

Based on the rank you select, it gives a Gantt chart-like timeline of who held that rank for which years (also includes admin timelines).

The icon I have is 58x58. If there is another ring out there which is not quite so, I haven't found it.

@Tarawen I have looked at that timeline, but have not loved it - I never saw a page which had more than 2 entries on it! I was looking at Admins and Maiar though, which is a whole 'nother barrel. Maybe it'll help someone with this.

Kalandria held this icon of Galadriel from 2009-11-09 - 2010-10-06. I'm pretty certain the order is Y/M/D.

O1 is Thorin, held by @Queen Nerwen from July 2008-June 2010
Aisil held K8 for awhile in 2011 during the Regions.
And Celebrin's icon was L3 for November 2009-February 2010

I was a ruler from 2004-2005. Morim was also a ruler in the same relative timeframe (he started a few months before me and finished a few months before me as well, but I think the years were the same).

I was never Celeborn. I believe Amalric was the last Celeborn (at least that I know of), and we only had Galadriels after that. I could be wrong though. I was not around for long periods of time. Amalric then became one of the Valar though I don't remember which. And Dincairwen was the last Galadriel I remember. Tbh I am a terrible reference lol I can't even remember Kala being Galadriel or any Celeborns besides Amalric XD

Uruloki and Grishnak were rulers when I joined Mordor March 2003. Both stepped down that year too. I think Mandallah came after me, so 2003 as well. Not sure when @DEATH was ruler, might have been with Mandallah (pretty sure it was)

F14 was Region (according to the old ruler page he was ruler in 2008, his term started in early 08 and ended in late 08).

Also I think F5 was Tinuviel (02-03)...Marina might have been F3 but I don't remember. I remember the F3 icon but not who had it.

In terms of dates, I believe I wore Arwen as ruler of Eriador from 2014-2016ish.

Uruloki and Grishnak were rulers when I joined Mordor March 2003. Both stepped down that year too. I think Mandallah came after me, so 2003 as well. Not sure when @DEATH was ruler, might have been with Mandallah (pretty sure it was)

All dates are approximate...
Mandallah was Sauron from late Feb 2004 to late April or early May. So he would have been Gothmog for a time before that. 2003 tracks with this theory.
Lulani came on board as Gothmog Feb 2004.
I ... er, Loke was Gothmog by late April or early May 2004. All three of us wore the M1 icon as Gothmog.
Fairly certain Mandallah wore M4 as Sauron, perhaps also M5
I wanna say Lulani wore M6 - unsure if that was for her entire rule.
As Sauron I think I was the first to wear the M7 icon.

So 2004 looks something like this.

Feb - Mandallah (Sauron) Lulani (Gothmog)
May - Lulani (Sauron) Loke (Gothmog)
After August? - Loke (Sauron) Rohanna (Witchking I think?)
By December's end it looks like Mandallah was back as a Ruler so I was out before then. My retirement came at a time of great upheaval in my life and I'm honestly uncertain about when it actually happened.

Edit: Inzilbeth may have been Sauron spanning end of 2003/start of 2004. It's getting pretty murky for me though in these old memory archives.

Yeah pretty sure [edit: virtually certain, the more I look at him] F1 was my Treebeard. Looking through them all really made me question it - they all look so familiar to me! You'd think your own icon would jump out at you like an old friend, but for me apparently not.

Anyway, I've just spent my 11am self-awarded tea break searching through the annals of my old hard drive and finally found the file I was looking for - my resignation post - the file is dated 15 May 2010. I don't really remember when I stepped up though . I feel like it wasn't a particularly long stint. I mention Sov, Shiva, Lotryn and DH as my co-rulers at the time.

Hoyamir was ruler before Naith and archive has him saved with G3

W4 was saved to Grey Pilgrim 2005

L6 was saved to Imfalas 2005

O8 was Fimbrethil and someone named House was saved 2007 with that

For the future of this project, I am ASKING FOR MORE HELP!!

What I'm hoping for is a person (or team) to take on a kingdom (or the regions) and reorganise it somehow into date order. Some kingdoms will need more information collated before we get to that stage - either that or they only had a few rulers. We might need to ask each kingdom for their specialist help!!

I imagine that eventually all the icons numbers will end up all over the place, but we'll have a nicer picture of who did what when and any gaps that emerge (and they are arbitrary numbers anyway). I'm not precious about presentation of your findings, so whatever way suits you will be fine - Loke/DEATH's post above is easy to read, for example.

Please feel free to take a kingdom and do it rather than being assigned it by me - I am in the middle of my RL busywork (report-writing time), so will not be even looking at this myself for a couple of weeks - there's no rush at all.

R4 I have seen both Wamba the fool and Lana saved with it.
R12 was saved to Éowyn of Rohan
W5 was saved to Ferruccio
R2 saved to Bereth
G15 ~~Gwaihir~~ and think she must have been one of the first rulers, so around 2002
G7 was saved to Hoyamir and was before Naith and only ruled for about 2 months
K5 was saved to Isembard
K11 saved to Littledude87 and op127
G6 was saved to Mathen Nors and he was pre Naith too
S14 saved to Pippeness
W2 saved to RavenClawCharm
K5 saved to Tor the Mighty
W9 saved to Wedgie

All these are from the capture late 2004

Andurin MC had this one saved and think she was one of the first Rivendell rulers

@Lirimaer - I am working on this for Rohan! I'll give you a more coherent list/estimated dates once I've got it done. I want to see if anyone can help us out here.

Here's what I have so far... dates are approximate.

R2 - I think was Bereth 2002-2003. @Bereth - can you confirm?
R4 - Pretty sure this was Ele Isenfolme 2004. Ele definitely had a helmeted-Eomer.
R5 - I think Feawen 2005
R10 - may also have been Eo/Eowyn of Rohan (same as ~Eohdwyn~, right? or wrong? this was early days for me but I thought she changed her name later...) She preceded Eleowyn. 2002-2003

Ok after that my memory is pretty shot as I was around less, but I think that:
R13 - Celinawyn 2006 or Shivased 2007-2009
R14 - Shivased - 2007-2009 @Shivased can you confirm? sorry I can't remember.

One of the Eomer's will have been @Elarith 2006-2007. I apologize I can't recall which one! Can you help us?
@Allacan Beorhtlig (2009-?) can you also help us play the Eomer face-matching game?

Other unmatched Eomer's I have are Imbeannowyn (2006) and Eile (2008) as well as Lorelai (2002).
Instinct tells me Eile wore R8 but maybe someone else can help us out with these.

@Lailyn My dates were Oct 2007 - June 2011. I was a ruler for just over 3 years. Eowyn for most of it and then Eomer for the last bit. I started as a ruler with Elarith, then Eile, then ruled with Allacan, then Dragon-Helm and Rowena. There were a couple other rulers in there, like Soveilus and stuff when we had regions and there were more than 2 rulers. I stepped down in 2011, leaving Rowena and Dragon-helm as rulers.

I know Celinawyn ruled with Imbeannowyn. Imbe was a ruler from 2006 - 2007 (I found a 1 year rulerversary thread from 2007.) and was Eomer. She stepped down early in 2007 I believe. Celi was Eowyn at that point. When Imbe stepped down Elarith took over as Eomer I believe, and I took over in around Oct 2007 from Celi, ruled as Eowyn with Elarith for a few months, then Elarith stepped down and Eile was brought in to replace Elarith and took the Eomer icon. I switched to Eomer at the end of my time when Allacan took the Theoden icon.

Does any of that make sense? It was a kind of confusing time as rulers kept going inactive, new rulers came in then went inactive or stepped down....

It is really funny what the WBM saves - I've seen lots of random Halloween icons in December! I guess we'll just mark you down as Kermy, then, gotta trust that WBM... :smiley10:
