Not a bad guess! Incorrect, but your logic was sound. I live in La Frontera so knowing how to make tamales, even for someone as white as myself, is fairly standard. Now, I've only done it once and they weren't very good, but I can say I did it once. I was gifted a pasta maker when I started college but it never actually got any use. I know
how make real tortillas but they're incredibly labor intensive and I'm nothing if not a lazy balrog.
