Favorite Character from The Silmarillion?

So I have actually reread the Silmarillion and I think I will reread it again next year ^^. Admittedly, this time I understood a lot more than the first time. I've also thought more about the characters and would like to know your favorite characters from the Silmarillion. To give this thread some structure, please use the following points:

- Name: Beleg Strongbow

- Event: Friendship with Túrin Turambar

- Reason: All in all, Beleg seems to be a goodhearted and strong character. The fact that he is a good tracker and warrior makes him extremely likeable. I actually see a lot of parallels between Beleg and the Legolas we know from the movies. But also in general his friendship with Túrin reminds me of that between Legolas and Aragon so much. I am not only fascinated by the fact that he is extremely loyal, but also that he makes all his decisions of his own will. All in all, he strikes me as a strong-willed, loyal, and powerful Elvish warrior.

Character: Fingolfin (he might be my favorite character in Tolkien's entire myth. )

Event: After the Dagor Bragollach; riding to the gates of Angband and challenging Morgoth to single combat.

Explanation: It's the most bad*** "wow" moment, in my opinion. An elf (even one of the Noldor) to challenge a Vala to single combat and deal 7 wounds. Yes, he got crushed and stomped into the ground in the end, but I don't know if any character can top that. To strike 7 wounds against a Vala and one that never fully heads. Cool.

@Boromir88: Yes! I absolutely love it. Just the fact that Fingolfin consistently showed class makes him a very amazing character. By that I also mean the numerous incidents between him and Feanor. It's just a shame that Fingolfin went along with the first kinslaying (though of course it has to be said that he mistakenly thought the Teleri had started the fight).

Regarding the event you mentioned: Yes, what a heroic deed. In this context, I wonder what Fingolfin would have thought about the ongoing development regarding the fight for the Silmarils. Do you think he would have been as fanatical about the Silmarils to the end as his good friend Maedrhos?
