Welcome back to an old game! "Who Am I?" is similar to the game of 20 Questions, except that the answer is always a person or creature in Middle-earth.

How to Play

1. The first person with the correct answer gets to choose the next creature by stating one word which should describe the creature in some way.
2. The creature must be a conscious character, though not necessarily known to speak (for example, Old Man Willow is acceptable, but not a lily by the Withywindle). They must feature in Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, or The Silmarillion.
3. Each question must be about the character and must be in a form that can be answered “yes” or “no”. You cannot say “What race are they?” but you could say “Is this an elf?”. The person whose turn it is should number the questions so we can all keep track of what's been asked.
4. Post guesses (which are different from questions) in bold. The guesses are where you announce who the person is ("It’s Tom Bombadil"). Responses to guesses don't need to be numbered. You only have ONE guess per round! I'm not going to enforce this old rule; just be a considerate player and don't throw out a million guesses when you really need more clues.
5. If the person whose turn it is doesn't answer any questions for 48 hours, someone else can jump in and start a new round.

Example round:
"Is this an elf?"
1. No, this is not an elf
"Is this an Ent?"
2. No, this is not an Ent
"Is this Tom Bombadil?"
No, this isn’t Tom Bombadil

Did I make this thread because I've always enjoyed this game? Yes. Did I really make this thread because I found the banner on my computer and thought...ehhh, there's already a banner for it, why not? Also yes.

You would make me do actual (albeit brief) research on what I thought was a fairly straightforward character.

2. Yes, it was created by Melkor

I am going to admit I had a different dragon in mind (Smaug with his golden hoard), but Glaurung the Golden fits far better with the original clue, sooooo...yes! Your turn @Rivvy Elf.

9. Can this entity fly under their own power, where the definition of "fly under their own power" is leaving the surface of Middle Earth and experiencing sustained lift through the air without having fallen from a height, been sucked up by a tornado, or carried aloft by another entity?

Feeling the need to define the term "flies" here :smiley9:
